Re: Baby to Toddler Check In
;
Words: dada, mama, nana, no, porque (my husband speaks Spanish), and and bunch of other made up words lol. She's a talker but those are the only words we understand so far.
likes: she loves her baby doll! She carries it everywhere and gives it kisses. She also loves to dance! Her dad and her grandma dance her to sleep lol. She also is a huge fan of bath time she kind of thinks she's a mermaid
mobility: she's a walking fool! Thank god no running yet though.
food: everything. Literally pretty much everything we give her. She still gets a few bottles a day but she has a solid 3 meals and as many snacks as she wants. She loves cheese though. And pasta. So she's pretty much like every other woman on the planet lol.
schedule: she sleeps from around 8 or 9 PM to 8 or 9 AM depending on the day. She always has one sold 2 to 2.5 hour nap and most days another hour long nap but not always.
Sizes: she fits pretty perfectly into 24 month stuff but in brands that run small like old navy she's a solid 2 (crazy right!) So all we've bought her recently is 2. She wears size 5 diapers because of her big thighs! She waist and butt could probably still squeeze into some 4s though.
Stats: 24 lbs and I can't remember how tall she is but she is tallllll. She's quite a bit above the 100th percentile curve at her doctors office. She's a big girl!
MOBILITY: he has been walking since just a few days after turning 10 months. Now he is pretty much running and getting into anything and everything.
FOOD: loves yogurt and cereal for breakfast. Loves grilled cheese for lunch and dinner. He eats just about every vegetable and fruit. Drinks 6oz. Of milk when he has a bottle. Loves water and healthy juices/smoothies. Doesn't like apple juice.
SCHEDULE: sleeps from about 10pm to 7:30am. Gets up once at 3:30am sometimes. Will nap from 10:30am to 2:30pm most days.
LIKES: his "baby" which is a stuffed owl. If you ask him where the baby is he will go and find him and gives him kisses. Puzzles. Ride on toys. He can get on and off them all by himself. The broom, remote and phone area his ultimate favorites. Loves the bath and water. Loves being naked and running around and hiding. Oh and the blinds, he is obsessed with them.
SIZE: 24 month and 2t clothing. In the tight Carters pajamas he wears 3t. Shoes he wears a 4.5 wide. He has very wide feet lol. juicy thighs and a booty like his mama lol. Size 5 diapers for a long time now. Can't remember when he wore 4's haha.
STATS: 25lbs. And 30 in. Are my measurements. Dr. Appt check up is in 2 weeks.
Words: not much in actual words but she tries and I can understand most if what she says; dah (dog), wuh or sometimes bwah (woof -dog barking), "dah" (cat, hat, hot and that - context is everything), altol (hello), oww (meow, home), ata (bottle, water), mam (milk and food in general, accompanied by the sign for milk) bowbow also means milk when accompanied by the milk sign, but it doesn't mean food just milk, mama (me and DH), up or just a p sound (up) and bye or buh (bye, buh also means book). She really only has two words that she can say right "up" and "bye" but there are a lot of words that she knows and can't pronounce. She babbles a lot and that nonsense can get hilarious.
She growls when she wants me to know that she is serious. She fake coughs when she wants my attention and she claps her hands when she wants me to play patty cake. She says "mmm bah!" When she wants me to read her a book. She points and says "dah" when she wants me to help her look at something. She's pretty communicative.
Also, I notice that she understands a lot more than she says. My nieces are the same way so I just assume that's the way babies develop. If I ask DD to get me something, such as a book to read her or tell her that we're going somewhere familiar or call her by name and ask her to follow me she knows what I am saying and usually tries to comply barring distractions.
Babies are pretty amazing in all they learn in the first year!
Mobility: walking, running, crawling, climbing, she is even going down the slide (feet first on her belly) on her own. She is really concentrated on physical independence! We tried swimming once though and she lost her cool so we're going to swim classes this summer. Other than that she is unstoppable.
Food: she eats all table food but we are delaying grains until her molars arrive since has had bad indigestion/gas in the past. She seems to be over her egg white reaction. She loves cheese and hamburger meat and chicken legs and soup of all kinds. She is still EBF and NOD around the clock. She usually eats 3 meals a day and 1 snack.
Schedule: wake at 8am, nap from noon to 1:30pm, bedtime at 9pm, nursing ON while bed sharing. Subject to change at any time.
Likes: songs and dancing, musical instruments, animal sounds, hide and seek/ patty cake (she's made it into the same game), books (especially the best word book ever and babylit Dracula), holiday inn (the movie), mirrors, the playground (slides, stairs and swings), storytime and babies and books at the library, exploring on her own while I follow, the family kitten, watching other children playing, walks in the Ergo, shower time, and of course she loves spending time with both her parents!
Sizes and Stats: 5 shoe (just barely), 12-18 month clothes, 25lb and 30 inches, 19 inch head circumference, size 3 diaper, 8+ teeth (ugh, erupt already so we can get some sleep again!)
I am so looking forward to this year! We're going to start house hunting after taxes and after being cooped up as a SAHM through the winter I am so stoked for spring/summer and going back to work PT. DD is gonna have so much fun outside playing and bonding with her dad while I'm at work.
Words:
Not much beyond mama or dada (which she whispers, and that's so hilarious). She's definitely finding her voice and making a lot more word-like sounds, instead of sounding like she's trying to communicate with dolphins (her screeching stage).
Walking: everywhere. Into: everything. Remember when you could put them down and they'd just stay put? Yeah, me neither.
Food: anything we're eating, always hated purees despite my best efforts to home make some awesome ones. Last night we went for Thai food and she had some of my salad, sticky rice, some pad see yeuw (if you've never had that, try it!!!) and an orange. We never really bothered with restricting her from eggs or anything because she was just so grabby at whatever was on our plate. DH and I are vegetarian, so she's not had meat yet (that I know of. This means YOU grandparents! Haha). We're not opposed to her eating it, we just want her to make the choice to do so. She takes 4-5 bottles a day between 6-8 oz each. I weaned at 9 mos, so we've had her on the organic formula (when we can find it) ever since.
Stats: at last check up she was 22 lbs and 30 inches. I still have her in size three dipes but probably need to upgrade because babygirls thighs are bodacious.
Likes: Rowan likes her dog brothers, namely our rescue mutt Stanley, who is 'special' (extra toes, only turns to the right, kind of crossed eyes; he's most likely the result of inbreeding, but we love him). She could be full on tantruming and Stan will walk up and she'll dissolve into a fit of giggles. It's an awesome sight. She also loves these two plush blankets from target. We can drape one on the side of the couch and she'll always take a (short) break from whatever terror she's wreaking to come give it a cuddle. She also has a stuffed sloth named Carlos that she got for Xmas that she thinks is the bees knees
Babbles constantly now, and he says Mama, Papa, yeah, go, fff for off, and ggy for doggy.
He likes hot wheels, glow sticks, Rattley balls, the park for slides and swings, music and dancing.
He does chin-ups if I let him grab anything horizontal. He stands atop his toy box, climbs stairs. Crawls lighting fast and cruises walls, chairs, and his favorite toy: our runt boxer, Janey. (Best dog EVER)
People often stop to compliment his restaurant manners. Crunching crackers in his high chair with the occasional joyful outburst.
He smiles for ladies young and old and growls at men. LoL
For a baby, he is king size: 33" and about 28 lbs. Hence, "Tiny", as in tiny giant.
Diapers size 4. Clothes 24 months or 2t.
