Gross TMI question about hemorrhoids

Ok, I warned you.

I had mild hemorrhoids before I was pregnant with DS, and then they just got worse and didn't go away. He's 15 months now, so I don't think they're going to go away on their own.

Should I see a doctor? Put a lot of preparation H on it? They're not painful but just there. And I'm not comfortable wearing a thong now. DH got me one for my birthday (among other things), and I don't want to exchange it for something less sexy, but I don't know what to do. Help!

Follow up question - should I return the thong or hold onto it in hopes that it will be comfortable to wear sometime soon?

I got them during pregnancy and yes they are still there.  My doctor has said they'll shrink (and according to him they have but I can't tell a difference) but he's never said they'd go away on their own.

PP has some good tips that will help them shrink, but the only way they'll go completely away is surgery.  

Unless they are bothering you and causing severe issues, a doctor won't remove them. And removal is VERY PAINFUL. SO PAINFUL WORDS CAN'T DESCRIBE.  But worth it in the end (SWIDT?) if they are legitimately that much of a problem (which I'm assuming they're not because OMG you would know).

I didn't try on the thong. I just know how it would fit based on others that I already have.

And yes..... there were times that said thongs were.... crusty.

Also, if it was very obvious that they were not worn (tags on it, receipt date within a day or something), they were taken back... if I recall correctly.

When I worked there, the general policy was we would take back anything that had a receipt .... sometimes even without a receipt but you'd only get a small amount in store credit... kind of a satisfaction guarantee type thing... whatever.  

So even though someone was dumb and ignored the washing instructions of the bra or wouldnt wear their correct size, it was our fault they wore out faster or broke, apparently.

But that ish like those panties isn't supposed to be put back on the shelf. 

We had a lady once that caused a big scene because we wouldnt take underwear back with no receipt that had a questionable stain clearly on it.  That was a fun day.

Lurker here. I actually just had surgery to remove mine the day after Christmas. It sucked so bad for two weeks after and then the third week it only slightly sucked. After that it was magically better and it's felt like a normal butt ever since. Do the sitz baths and wet wipes to see if that helps. I have nothing to offer on the thong front though. I haven't worn one of those in years.
