how do you handle vomit?

last night ds had his first adult-like vomit ever.  He started crying around 10 and when I went in there he was gagging. I picked him up, yelled for DH who was in the next room and headed for the bathroom.  I met DH in the hallway and handed ds off.  He didn't make it to the toilet before getting sick and some of it ended up on the floor. no big deal. Of course at the very same time dd begins crying because she's hungry and I'm the only one who can feed her.  I told DH to take ds and I'd take dd and that I'd clean up the mess once I was done.  That was a first for us! I felt so bad for ds.  He felt better almost immediately, so I think he just ate something that didn't agree with him.  This morning he is normal.  DH had the nerve to tell me next time to be a little more calm when ds is sick so I don't scare him. ?????  whatever.  I gave him toast for breakfast, DH gave him a cookie after.  We're totally on different pages sometimes...

  • Eh..I'm more like you.  And I can see DH saying something along the same lines to me about being more calm as to not freak DS out.  But usually DS is freaked out to begin with so it upsets me because my poor baby is upset so what can you do?!?!?

  • I try to stay really calm, because Nora is already upset when she's getting sick.  I tell her that it is okay to get sick, that it happens to everyone and calmly take care of the situation.

  • LOL!! When my kid vomits I flip out and DH cleans it up. When his kids vomit, I wind up cleaning...don't know why were like that. Wonder who's going to clean up this one's puke?
image Alcoholism is not determined by how much you drink or how often, but by negative consequences in your life that do not alter your drinking habits.
