I posted on here quite a bit after my DS was born and a little more infrequently as the years have gone by. I am now a little over 9 weeks pregnant with my second and am starting to think about VBAC. I had my first appointment today and met with a midwife. Unfortunately she does not do deliveries nor do any of the other midwives in the practice. I have no provider choice since my insurance is tied to the health center (I work for a university). Thankfully, I got the inside info on how the OBs in the practice think, what VBAC policies in the hospital are, and what hurdles I may encounter along the way (threats of a "big baby".. my son was 9lbs11oz).
I am fairly confident in my ability to stand firm and not be hassled by an OB into making a decision I am not comfortable with. I mostly wanted to post today to say "hi" and to let people know that I will be contributing more regularly in the future. I may also have a few questions along the way and hope to find some support since most of my IRL friends and family do not understand why a VBAC is important to me (my DH is the exception and is a huge support).
Cheers!
