1. How are you doing? How is your LO doing? We are doing ok. I swear sometimes I look for problems where there aren't any. DS and I both had a bit of food with soy oil in it this weekend. He was pretty much constipated all weekend. He probably just wasn't drinking enough water. He also had dark circles under his eyes. I just feel like something is bothering him, but can't pinpoint what. It's probably just my anxiety.
2. Let's talk more about food! What are you craving that you can't have? Have you found a good substitute (store bought or home made)? Giving up most store bought baked goods was really hard. I have had pretty good success with these black bean brownies: https://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/09/06/no-flour-black-bean-brownies/
With Enjoy Life chocolate chips, this recipe is really sweet. I only used 1/3 c maple syrup or agave nectar (didn't add the 2 Tbs stevia/sugar). Definitely let them cool before eating (difficult I know!) or they will taste a little bean-y.
3. Any other burning questions you'd like answered or experiences to share? Nope. Hope everyone else is doing well!
I just made that recipe, and it came out really good! Thanks!
Just a quick question? I've been keeping a food journal and charting if DD's poops have blood. (Our symptoms have been blood and mucus in bm, and hiccups) Last night I noticed that she did for the second time have blood (I only went milk/soy free last week). Both nights that she had blood it was a few hours after I ate spaghetti with meat sauce (all packaging of spaghetti and sauce are Wegmans brand and there is no milk/soy listed) but I did make it with hamburger. I'm guessing this dinner is the trigger.... Any ideas what was the trigger for the poop? Could it be the beef? TIA!
@Jackapatamus It could be the beef - some babies who are sensitive to dairy are also sensitive to beef, though my understanding is that's pretty rare. Could the spaghetti or sauce have hidden dairy or soy in it? Whey, vit E, natural flavors? It could also just be coincidence since you have only been milk/soy free for 1 week. Symptoms can be more sporadic as you're clearing the proteins out of your systems. HTH!
