Question for you ladies if you don't mind me asking. How long did you bleed after your LEEP? My first week was pretty non eventful but I've had more bleeding this past week. I go tomorrow for my follow up so I will obviously get answers....but I'm dreading going for this appt while bleeding you'd think having pushed out a baby and survived a baseline IvF appt that I would be over it, but I'm not......and I'm wondering if bleeding like this is still normal 12 days later..... Any thoughts? I'm due for my period my day but am about 90% sure this is not it - not nearly heavy enough and no cramps, but then again my period has been so different since baby I can't be positive. Ugh. Sorry for the TmI!

Hi! I honestly don't remember how long I bled, but I don't think it was very long. But its also been a few years. I wouldn't be surprised that you'd bleed for a while after that though. And don't worry about tomorrow, I'm sure they see much worse!! I'd think they'd be able to tell if the bleeding is coming from the LEEP area or not. Maybe it is your period. Good luck! Thanks lady! About an hour after I posted that the cramps began and good old AF rolled into town this morning, making her usualy timely arrival

So I postponed my follow up until Friday. I really hope I"m dried out by then  - this is no fun!

Sorry I missed this and glad to see it's your period, even though I believe I had bleeding (not heavy for at least spotting or a little more) for at least 2 weeks after my Leep.  I didn't have a follow-up though for three or four months when I had another pap done so at least I didn't have to worry about bleeding at an appointment because yea, that is the worst, even when you've had a baby or done IVF, it's still not cool.

As an aside, I once went to the doctor for extremely heavy bleeding during my periods and the nurse gave me a gown, told me to undress and the doctor will be in, in a minute.  Well no, he wasn't, it was more half an hour so yea, in that time I was bleeding like crazy and then the doc comes in and says "yea, you are really are bleeding heavily."  No kidding.  What the f?  I felt like a dope for not having just kept my underwear on but then how awkward would that have been to have the doc walk in and have to take them off in front of him or ask him to step back out while I did.........it just seemed like a no win situation for me.

UGH @itsmevkb - that sucks!!!!! I feel your pain though, bleeding at any type of OB-RE appointment is just awkward for all parties involved. I will probably still be spotting or have a light flow on Friday - but my OB had told me she could see me if that was the case. I can probably deal with that.

She also told me when she called with my results last week that the bleeding was still normal and she can put some more stuff on my cervix to help stop it. I'll have her do that on Friday if neeed. Hopefully it's not needed though - beacause I'm over this!
