stitch fix q real quick

before I submit my info I want to be sure I understand-
they charge you a $20 fee up front
when you get your order, you choose what you want to keep. The $20 gets applied to whatever you keep & then they charge you for what you decide to keep.
If you keep nothing, they keep your $20
you send back what you don't want using a prepaid envelope they send with the items.

is that pretty much it? the $20 is the only risk?

Thanks!

  • Lurker here but I wanted to comment. Yes. You even get a discount if you buy all 5 items they send (I think it is 20% off).  I just started doing it and really like it. The things they send are a good reflection of my style and so far I have liked all of the pieces. I only end up keeping 1-2 per month because I am picky and want to absolutely love the item. I will say that they are a bit pricer then I anticipated (a top is usually $50-70, accessories $20-30 and dresses ~70) but the items are good quality.
Oh you do have to send the stuff you do not want back in 3-5 days which is kind of quick but they give you the envelope so all you have to do is drop it off.
  • I'm pretty sure the $20 you pay for each 'fix' is only applied as a discount if you decide to keep all the items in the box.

So, if you decide you only like one or two items, you have to pay the $20 for the month + the cost of the two items your purchase.

Re: cost of items, I thought they were pretty true to what I said I usually spend on accessories, pants, tops, etc.  Maybe go look at the profile again and make sure those costs are set right.

No- you get a discount if you keep everything.
This is straight off their website
"You pay a $20 styling fee when your stylist selects the items in your Stitch Fix. This $20 fee will be applied as a credit toward anything you keep from your shipment."
