It's probably been talked about...oh well...

Anyone getting a new tat in honor of baby(ies)? If so, what are you getting?

I absolutely love Tattoos...yet I have none. I would love to get one in honor of my DS1 and now for DS2. I'm so damn picky though.

I've thought about getting their zodiac sign with their name. I also want a Willow tree AND I want this saying on my back ''Every breath is a second chance.''

What do you have so far and what do you want to get?

I have stars for loved ones in heaven on my ankle. And I have a tree with the sun shining through it on my back with my sons name under it.

I'd love to get something for W, but DH is not crazy about the idea of me getting more tatoos.

I have 3 tats so far: 1 tribal monstrosity on my hip that I got when I was 16 bc I'm cool like that. I also have a Celtic shamrock on the top of my foot to represent my Scot/Irish heritage, and I also have the words "Mischief Managed" with a pumpkin on my right hip to represent our Oct wedding.

Once I'm done nursing I'm getting a snowy owl surrounded by snowflakes on my left side close to my ribs/heart to represent my winter baby m/c, and I haven't quite decided what I'm going to do for LO yet. Maybe just add a pumpkin to the patch of my MM tattoo?

I'm wanting this with his birthdate below. That way I can just add each child's birthdate. I'm planning on getting it on my left shower in May.

I have footprints.  There are three of them in bright colors.  I got it when I was 18.  I have been wanting another one but not sure what or where just yet. 

DH has Semper Fi down one side and Devil Dog on the other.  He got them while in the Marine Corps.  He also has a family tattoo on his shoulder that his dad had as well.  He plans to get the kids names designed around the family tattoo soon.

I have two tattoos already but I'm getting DS's first & middle name with a heart next to it on my foot. DH hates tattoos but I talked him into letting me get one for DS. The other two I got before we were together.

We were married in October as well and I have also been thinking about a pumpkin patch tattoo. I would like to somehow put our last name and my kid birthday/names since I call them pumpkin all the time!
Of course I have commitment issues with stuff like this and it would be my first tattoo, so can't lie I'm kinda scared. Yup, I'm a weenie!

That is beautiful. Do you have a bigger picture. Your avatar pic is so little and I can't make it big. 

I don't have any tattoos. DH hates them, but I want one someday. I was thinking something in DD's handwriting, when she can write would be cute.

I currently have a stingray on my back. I want to get another one that is homage to tandem breastfeeding. I never knew I'd be so obsessed with it when I first had dd. I will get it when I'm done feeding both kids (at least 2 years away).

I have one tattoo, a simple flower on my shoulder blade. DH has been talking about getting a tattoo that has something to do with DS, but hasn't settled on anything yet. TBH I have hated most of his ideas. I don't really think that either of the 2 tattoos he has now have stood the test of time, so I'm really trying to help him make a better choice for this one ;-)

Ask your friends w/ tats and find a really great artist in your area. Have a meeting with them and explain what you want and have them design something especially for you. Tweak/make changes as needed until you can't stand the thought of NOT having it. Works like a charm.

I am planning to get DS's left foot print with his name above it. I'll get baby#2's right foot print next to it with it's name underneath.

I eased myself into getting one by watching all the tatto shows on netflix (la ink, inked, ny ink, Miami ink). After I finished watching all of them was when I got mine. Don't watch the tattoo artist competition ones though, those can be scary

And my stingray tattoo represents our honeymoon when we snorkeled with sting rays in bora bora. Modern tattoos became popular/originated in Tahiti, so we felt it was fitting.

I have a killer whale with an angel on my shoulder blade. It's a Native American piece of work because my mom is full native. When I was 9 my mom had my little brother at 26 weeks and he passed away. It's a memorial for him.

I also have a couple random tattoos. I think I'll get one more of a bible verse to represent my loss and now DS. I'd like to get two swallows with it as well and add more when I have more children.

I will wait until LO is older and can communicate what his interests are. I hope that it is something cool because I'm running out of places that can be covered easily.

I've always wanted one and I definitely want my first to represent my baby girl. I was always a control freak and I just have that type A personality. So, being a mom has just shown me to go with the flow sometimes. That's why my tattoo will be of a butterfly because butterflies fly with the wind instead of against it. I also plan to get the old school Minnie Mouse because that's my favorite character.

I can't decide what to get. I like the Celtic knot for mother and child also but I want something unique. I have a sea turtle on my foot and a hammerhead shark on my hip. I've wanted a stingray for a Long time and eventually want a jellyfish on my side. We'll see. Another thing I like is finding an artist that I trust so I can give them guidelines and have them come up with their own art work. It's hard to find. I looked for two years for someone to do the stingray and never found them. DH has none but he thinks he wants one for the baby too

I have 3 already; a shamrock for my Irish background, a moon to represent new beginnings and a ladybug for good luck.

I plan on putting DS handprint with his name and bday on my side in bright blue. I know that placement will hurt but i know I will have enough room to add more handprints in the future.

I have three: a large Celtic cross on my back, holly around my ankle and the word believe on my wrist. I plan on getting intersecting hearts that make a cross on my other wrist. For LO I want a laurel tree with her date etched into the trunk. Her name is Daphne and it means laurel tree.

I have 2 tattoos, but neither of them represent the children. Both are music related, which is and always has been a huge part of my life. DH has one tattoo, and its down the center of his back. He says never again! He thinks I should get one or two more though

I might just get his name in a nice font. I'd put it on my forearm above the anchor that me and H got as our marriage tattoo. Either that or a get a portrait of an actual fox but I think I like the simplicity of "Fox"

Yay for sealife tattoos! I want to get a shark to go with my stingray. Black tipped reef shark.

@rsigler, I love the reason for your tattoo of Virginia. #eyeswelledwithtears. I have a Gator tattoo in script on the top of my right foot. It's reasoning is obvious...I'm a crazy fan. I would love to have a tattoo with the names of all of our children, so I will most likely wait until we are done having kids....or maybe not, this thread is making me want another one.

I have a rose. It's a different rose though, my brother is an artist and drew it for me. I love tats and they are addicting. My next will be on my foot. Problem is my DH hates them. We have had many talks about it. He would never tell me not to, but at the same time really doesn't want me to get it.

I already have 3 tattoos and I definitely want to get one to represent LO, but I want to wait a little while to get it, I want it to have real meaning. I have dolphins (family vacation to Hawaii where I swam with them), a heart (no meaning, impulse when I was with a friend) and my fave is my Celtic trinity knot for my Irish heritage.

I love tattoos and at this point I have 11, when I am finished nursing I plan to get LO's footprint from birth tattoo'd on my foot.  As soon as I found out I was prego, I knew that would be my next tattoo

I got one for DD it's a super sperm with a 13 in the cape for the year she was born. On my ankle. I've got several tattoos so the goofy-ness of this one wasn't far off for me. I also have a pink bow on my middle finger for her when I found out she was a girl.
