Skipping nap

Since DD was born seven weeks ago DS (20 months) has really been fighting his naps. I keep trying to put him down at the same time he has always napped and let him stay in there for about an hour while he talks to himself and his stuffed animal quietly. He used to go right to sleep after just a few minutes. Now I'm lucky if he will sleep. Sometimes DD is already asleep in her crib napping so I don't think he wants to stay up because she is up. Anyone else have this happen? I'm hoping it's just a phase?

This happened to me too, and it was just a phase. I found that b/c I was on ML I was letting my older DD sleep in in the morning which meant she wasn't tired enough by naptime. So I started waking her earlier in the morning and making sure we got out to the park or some activity in the mornings. This got her back on routine and she started napping again. She didn't give naps up until she was 3.
