Hair help please!!

Long story short, much of my hair fell out last summer and I cut it really short. As it's come back, it is curly for the first time in my life and I have no idea what to do with it! It's cute short but as I've tried to grow it back out, I look like Kramer. Please to give me all your curly hair/growing out tips, pictures, anything!

Re: Hair help please!!

  • I basically follow the curly girl method (you can google - it's hard to get used to but it works well for my hair).  I have really curly hair and the only thing that keeps it curly instead of frizzy is gel.  If your hair isn't as curly you might do well with a curl cream or just a leave in conditioner.  As the pp said, it takes a lot of trial and error with products.

  • Ok, the biggest thing I'm struggling with is how to grow it out without looking like a crazy person - any tips?

  • Agree with the others. I have very straight hair but DD has VERY curly hair. We "co-wash" her hair in between washes. We Shampoo once per week, in between, wash/detangle with conditioner only. I agree to use pins/Barrettes and head bands while you grow it out. Also, get regular hair cuts that retain length but give it good shape. You should find someone that is good at cutting curly hair (like a Divachan hair salon)

  • Thanks ladies! Yeah, hair is probably 2-3 inches long all over my head so I know I'm in for a long wait trying to grow it out. I'll check out curly girl!
