So, I am going to attend my first babywearing group today. I'm nervous about it since it will be women I don't know at all. I love my Ergo and I am really interested in woven wraps. My family thinks I'm crazy since Emmett will be walking soon, but I know that a lot of moms continue to wear their children into the toddler years. Do any of you babywear?
Re: Babywearing
My little bug, Madeline. Born June 2, 2013.
Since he is heavy it is so much easier to carry him around.
my read shelf:
The leader went through a brief description of the different kind of wraps. I felt like most of the women there looked down on some of us because we "only" had an Ergo.
I was hoping to try something from the lending library, but the only woven wrap they have is currently being used by someone else.
If I lived closer I would probably continue to go to he meetings and get to know the women better. However, I live an hour away so I'm just not sure if it's worth it to make the drive. I might just have to take the plunge and buy a woven wrap to see if I like it. If not, I could probably resell it!
Sorry the class wasn't what you expected.

As for brands, I would recommend looking at your budget first. Two hundred dollars for a wrap is not uncommon. However, you can get just as good of a wrap for cheaper. If sixty dollars is more your comfort, I highly suggest making your own. I have two that I made with material for a third. All three of them cost less than my 'fancy' one (Nati dandelions). I have never wrapped with one, but I have heard Girasol wraps are great for beginners. Another good one is Little Frog.
I can recommend different baby wearing facebook groups and offer more advice/words of encouragement/share videos or just chat baby wearing any time
