Update #2... Still waiting for answers, and they think it either might be a bacterial infection or Crohn's disease (!). I'm on lots of systemic antibiotics (up pumping in the MOTN...fun), and waiting for a colonoscopy either tomorrow or tues. I haven't been able to see DD, which is the hardest part. Sometimes I'm ok, sometimes pretty low. A private room opened up this evening, though, so I've gotten a little sleep finally. And my mom drove down, so I get to see her in the morning... I just want my mom!
DD spent the night at my in-laws, and she did great! I'm trying to figure out how to see her tomorrow if I can (but I worry that she'll freak out if she sees me and can't nurse - I'm on IV flagyl and cipro, which is enough hard-core stuff that I can't nurse her...hoping I can switch to just oral cipro tomorrow so I can nurse her off and on, at least).
Anyway, tl;dr, still in the hospital, trying to make the best of it, missing my baby, and hoping it's all over soon. Thanks, you guys, for listening and being there, it makes it less lonely late at night.

Update: thanks to some bleeding/abdominal pain, they want to do more tests to find out what's happening. So...here we go for a CT scan. I'll also hopefully get lab work back soon that will point to some answers. Thank you all for the kind words!!
Hey guys, just wondering if you could send some good vines my way. I'm in the ER getting rehydrated and getting Zofran because I've got yet another round of something gastroenteritis. They're checking to see if it's bacterial, since it keeps coming back, and I'm just exhausted and so done with being sick.
Thankfully, DH's parents came in to watch DD, so I'm able to rest a bit.
Oy.

GI is not my field and before I was an OB nurse I was ortho, so my experience with it is limited to the times I floated to med-surg floors. So I don't know how they typically would approach IV antibiotics, but if you have questions, it is totally reasonable to ask the doctor when he rounds on you or even your nurse for answers. She most likely has an idea what the plan for you is and if not, she can call the physician and get clarification for you. I would recommend waiting until daytime to ask, though. You're more likely to get answers then.
I hope you feel better soon and that it's not Crohn's.
