It finally happened!

Allie was invited to a birthday party for a schoolmate. My social (awkward) butterfly was invited to a party! This is a big thing. Now I feel like we need to get a kick ass gift by tomorrow.

H and I have struggled with this. We have thrown around the idea of having a party at a bounce house or skate center, just to get kids to come. We don't want to force friendship.

She typically does not play with anyone. She's a loner. Everyone (doctors, school councilors, teachers, parents) we have talked with say its normal. Normal for an only child and normal for a gifted child. She's both.

I've watched her on the playground at school. She talks to the teachers. In ASP she begs to go with the older kids or she hangs with the ASP staff. It's heart breaking.
