Pregnant after a Loss

Zofran question

My ms has been pretty bad for two weeks now--mostly constant nausea and dry heaves, extreme food aversion and some vomiting. My ob prescribed Zofran melts and I tried one for the first time this am. It seemed to work pretty well and I was enjoying the freedom from wretching!

Fast forward to now, I'm starting to get pgal brain and am getting scared that my nausea hasn't kicked back in! I took it about 12 hours ago! My boobs aren't hurting as much either:/ this first trimester is so hard!!! I'm 7 weeks 3 days, so long to go!

  • Oops: has anyone here had lengthy Zofran luck?

  • I didn't start zofran until 12 weeks (hooray for vomiting that never ends!), but usually I'd only need to take one pill to end the cycle of vomiting for at least the rest of the day. They were quite effective for me.

As far as sore boobs, symptoms can come and go and we drive ourselves crazy overanalzying them! It is so hard. :( But I'm sure all is well and you're just getting a little break!

  • I started taking it around the same time as you (@8 weeks) I never had many other symptoms so I didn't notice if the Zofran decreased my awareness of anything else. The only thing I will say is that it made me super constipated, so get ready for that!

Don't know if that really helps or answers your question. FWIW I took it until almost 17 weeks when my sickness finally let up. I'm 30 weeks now, so no harm done taking it for that period of time. Sorry your PGAL brain is acting up.

I started taking zofran pretty early and I started off taking 4mg once in the morning and was fine the whole day... Fast forward a week later and I was up to 3 a day... This ended up lasting 12 weeks after. I say enjoy the lack of nausea while you can :)
  • I've taken Zofran throughout this whole pregnancy as well as DD's with no problems. I would take one 4 mg pill in the morning and my nausea wouldn't return until the next morning. Sorry abut the pgal brain today!

  • Thanks, everyone:)  It's so hard to relax...it is just so weird being able to eat and not constantly dry heaving....I did gag watching a food stunt on "Who's Line is it Anyways" tonight, which comforted me some;)
