Hello! I just want to introduce myself to all of you wonderful ladies. I have been reading many of the discussion for a long time and have finally become a member. It took me a long time to emotionally accept the fact that infertility has become a real part if my life.....I kept telling myself next month it'll work and this nightmare will be over. A little about myself, DH and I have been ttc since 2012. I have irregular periods. My cycles can range from 47-76 days. I have been working with my OB the past year. She has been prescribing femara and metformin. These medications did result in positive OPK around cd 14 and average 30 day cycles. I had HSG done in December of 2013 and everything looked fine. DH completed SA and results were normal. I am going to be seeing the RE for the first time march 6!! I'm a mix of emotions. Excited to get some better answers and medical advice, and a little bit defeated because like I said earlier I have finally accepted that this is part of my life. Any advice that I can get from you all would be appreciated! Anything I should be asking in specific on my fist RE appointment? Thanks so much ladies! I'm happy to have found a group that understands the frustration!

Welcome! My advice is not to stress too much over the initial appt. The RE will likely recommend some additional testing and then a follow up appointment. Good luck!

Welcome. I'm sorry you find yourself here, but I hope that you find this board to be helpful.
I found my first RE appointment to be a bit overwhelming, with information but even more so with emotions. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Come in prepared. How long you've been trying, any of the charting/tracking/OPK/monitor all of that.... We had our consult & I had been keeping detailed info for 6 months. My husband had already done several SA due to his reversal, so he brought those results in too. We had to call on the first day of my next cycle to get everything going. That happened last week. They did an exam, pap, ultrasound (to check follicles & lining & other stuff), and I had 12 viles of blood drawn. Fast forward to this week, I had contrast X-ray done to ensure that my tubes were not blocked..... At the end of the day, they realized that I'm in great shape reproductively speaking, as my numbers are great. It's DH swimmers that are the issue. We start injections next month & our first IUI.... Welcome... Sorry you are here and pray you don't have to stay long. I think one of the biggest things people talk about after the fact us how they like their RE. You will need to have a decent feeling about them. How they talk to you, how comfortable they make you feel how the office is run... Things like this to me go a long way. Best of luck to you.
