Babies: 6 - 9 Months

night moves

My LO moves around his crib a great deal in his sleep. He literally does laps of his crib. He's been doing this for some time now. He used to wake himself up but not so much anymore. Sometimes he even bangs into the side and we can hear it on a different floor of the house.  Does anyone else's baby do this? When do they grow out of it?

Re: night moves

  • Yes, babies move. He will grow out of it when he has better body control. But, even when they have that- they still can bump their head.

  • My son moves around a lot at night too. I know he bumps his head. The other day I layed him down for a nap, and a couple minutes later I heard some thumping. I check the video monitor and he is up on his knees, rocking back and forth banging his head on the crib slates. When I go in there to stop him, he looks at me and smiles. Im pretty sure if my son is ok, your son will be just fine lol. I think if they are movers in the crib now, banging heads will be something that can happen until they move into a toddler bed.
