We swaddle arms only but he also still sleeps in the rnp. We are attempting to transition to the crib and will lose the swaddle then as he is just starting to roll from back to tummy. We are 15 w 4 d.
Wynn is 16 weeks and he sleeps swaddled in the Halo sleepsack with wings. I've tried a couple times to unswaddle but he was not having it. I figure like everything else he will outgrow it when he's ready. If he rolls over I guess I'll have to break him cold turkey. But for right now he just scoots around a little bit in it.
We still swaddle with the halo sleep sack. G is 15 weeks and not rolling all the way over yet. He hates not being swaddled at night, it's going to be rough going when it's time to not swaddle anymore.
We're about to put Atticus down for his third night swaddle-free. It's a nightmare. He's 16 weeks today and he's been rolling so we had to ditch it.
God, how I miss the swaddle. The first night took forever to get him to bed (usually this is very easy), then we saw 3 wake-ups in 5 hours. Last night wasn't much better.
He isn't flailing; he is rolling and trying to sit up in the middle if the night and that's waking him up. He starts crying because he's frustrated he is awake.
The only positive is that he is going back to sleep quickly most of the time. I can pat him and rub him and he rolls onto his side and passes out before long.
FTR, the Zipadee Zip is useless. Save your money when you are looking to transition and don't buy that thing.
In a moment of desperation I considered buying a Slumber Sheet; you snap their sleep sack into it. DH convinced me it was too much like a straight jacket.
DD is 12 weeks are we're still using swaddlemes. She's not rolling over yet but close...I'm considering buying a Merlin's Magic suit now and making the transistion with that before she can roll over to avoid having to go cold turkey.
We are three months yesterday and we had to ditch the swaddle when we transitioned to the crib a few weeks ago. She has started to roll over so while it was Ok when she was in the RnP (bc she had nowhere to go), we had to stop in the crib. It wasn't fun bc to be honest I don't think she was ready for that... And we are waking up more than usual still, but we didn't have a choice. If your LO isn't rolling I would say stay with it as long as you can!
Just starting the transition with one arm out. It works pretty well so far. I did purchase the Merlin magic suit, it looks super hot. We haven't used it yet. E is 16 weeks and not rolling yet.
Re: Swaddling Question.
Eta: I should have said DD is 14 weeks tomorrow.

That being said, she still sleeps better swaddled then without.
