Vacations

All of this bad weather (in the North at least) has me daydreaming about vacations. What type of vacation would you most like to take next if money were no object?

    Even though I made the poll, I had a hard time picking! Considering LO would be coming with us, I picked cultured.  He actually likes going to places like museums and stuff, and I have been dying to get back to Europe because I haven't been in over ten years.  If he weren't coming, I would choose adventurous and do a safari or nature-based and visit Alaska again or do an Antarctic cruise (dream vacation).  

    But since money IS an object, what we are ACTUALLY doing next is fun: Disney World!

    Beach, beach, ocean, sun, beach, sand, beach, beach, tan, waves, beach.

    I'll save the cultured trips and amusement parks for when my children can remember them, but until then and beyond, beach bumming is always at the top of my list.

    I want to travel the world with Lily and have her see all of the things that I want to see but never have because I've never been out of the country.

    If it were just me and my DH I would choose a beach vacation. With my DD a cultural one because she is well behaved doing tours and museums. I never got to see anything when I was young so I would like to be able to do that for her.

    If the kids were coming, Disney.  If the kids weren't coming?  Well, that right there is vacation enough.  But seriously, if they weren't, BEACH.

    The only vacations we have taken since ds1 was born have been to Texas and Florida- all to visit family. We were just in Florida in January (my parents have a winter house there) and we are going back in a few weeks. Then we are going to Texas in June for my cousin's baby's baptism. I'm hoping that we travel back to aruba sometime in the fall- just my husband and I. Before we had kids we traveled all over- Europe, Mexico, the u.s. We hope to get back into traveling once the kiddos are older and can appreciate it.

    My favorite trip memory was backpacking for two weeks in Spain/France with Hubs. I would love to do it again. I've done all kinds of travel trips- cruises, backpacking, bus trips, foreign, domestic. The best thing about our backpacking was we really just explored- we hit museums, tried new foods, wandered through cities, hit famous spots and if we didn't feel like doing anything, we didn't. It was PERFECT. We had two lists: a MUST SEE list and a IF WE HAVE TIME list. We hit all our must sees, a few if we have time and still had plenty of lounging time/exploring and finding other cool things time. I hope to be able to take a similar trip in a few years, with A in tow- packing will be a bit more challenging, but I'm sure if we can get her potty-trained we'll be able to pull it off. We never even got in a car on our last trip, so we'd just use the same travel methods (train, metro).

    All of the above!!!! I can hardly wait for my 5 yr anni because the hubby and I will be going on a kids free vaca finally!!!

    We're headed to the Caribbean in a month sans-baby for my 30th bday! Our last two vacations were super busy trips to Italy and Germany and were amazing but the current pace of my life right now necessitates a relaxing trip. Can't wait for my feet in the sand and a margarita in hand.

    I loveeee the beach! We are going this summer with my parents, brother and his gf, a family friend and his wife, and the 3 of us in one beach house. The neighboring beach house will have my aunt, uncle, cousin/gf, cousin/husband and their 3 kids (the youngest arrived in December!) I am SO SO SO excited. It is kind of like a dream vacation. I have the very best memories of my childhood from vacationing with my family like that.

    If it were just hubs and I.... I would love to stay in one of those huts on the water in Tahiti

    Europe for me! No questions!!! I would love to go back to England and Scotland and see Italy, Germany and Spain.
