  • @emotionlotion I saw your throatpunch Thursday after I wrote this actually. Like I said in an earlier post, I'm not all judgey on those who do more, to each their own! Just like it annoys you when people tell you to slow down, it works the other way too. In my work place I feel like the others who go above and beyond during pregnancy make it harder for me, while I am not neglecting my job duties I am not doing extra. This pregnancy is pretty rough on me and I am not putting my and my child's health at risk for a job.

I am also proud of myself for coming to work during all of the snowstorms this year.

I hate when people say T&Ps. Can you really not take the extra 1.5 seconds to add in the 13 extra letters?
I would marry you over this. I always think, at least write a sentence. One sentence.
Especially if it is truly a heartfelt sentiment.

If it weren't fro the bump I don't think I'd ever hear the word tacky.

Amen. Maybe I lack "class" but I generally don't think of things in those terms. Some things are for me, some things are not my style, but I can't recall thinking of something as tacky. Anything that makes other people happy (short of hurting others) is usually okay by me...

I think people spend way too much time and money taking pictures. Live in the moment- the photograph is only there to remind you of the memory, and if you're truly enjoying the moment, the memory of it will ALWAYS be better than the picture!

    (SUPER Unpopular, I know!)
I don't really want to pay $600 for newborn photos when I don't like a lot of the super posed ones anyway. But some family members are pressuring us to do it (but notice, they don't offer to pay for them).
@KrystaJ - I'm not opposed to a few posed ones (that aren't crazy expensive!) at a shoot, but I see people hiring photographers for birthday parties and taking time out to set up mini-photo shoots during the party! Or people who have photographers in the delivery rooms over relatives who really care to be there! And for what?! The "perfect" picture, which can ruin the moment!

Kay but do they need to post these intentions on fb?

I blocked a friend for this. Do what you wanna do but I do not need to know all about it.
I definitely wouldn't post it on fb, but I don't post much of anything other than the occasional picture of my daughter. Some people are too willing to share every aspect of their life.

Oooo I have finally thought of one that will actually be unpopular...

I don't really like wine...  Especially red wine. GAG!

My drink of choice? Captain Morgan and Diet Coke!
I do like wine but I love Captain Morgan!!!! It's almost always my drink of choice whether I'm out or at home! I've got an open bottle of Captain Morgan Private Stock and I can't wait to drink it again!!

Oh, I hear you girl. I'll admit I was feeling self-conscious about my own judginess so I read a lot into your post. Tootally goes both ways. I don't have a problem with people cutting back on work or not doing extra and making sure they are keeping themselves and their little one's healthy. I specifically have a problem with my coworker, which is an ongoing and unique case. Hope I didn't come off argumentative!

    Nooo not at all!
I get what you are saying. And I read what's going on with your coworker, these are two totally different things.
I'm a nurse. I can still do my job and still do it well, but there is just some common courtesy that I feel should be given to pregnant women, like not assigning them the heavy lifting or infectious diseases (where I work there is not a lot of this so assigning it to someone else is really no big deal). For the most part people are good about this but there are a few women who Are older and have kids who will not make these minor accommodations under the pretense that they did it and were fine. I feel it is unnecessary. These same women judge me on my pregnancy.

  • @bebemac How dare you??!? Posting that gif of the smore bar with Reese's Peanut Butter cups. I was fine! Didn't have any major cravings, I saw that and was done for. It is impossible to find any here in Singapore. I have found them once on the island but it would take me an hour to get there and then pay $5.99 a bar. But darnnit it would be bleeping worth it. Thankfully, I was complaining to my friend and out of no where a kind angel brought me a handful of the mini ones they were hoarding from Halloween. I looked like gollum eating a fish, the side eye I got eating them is priceless.

I will give you that, but I really don't want a picture of me pushing baby girl out of me....and I don't want one of her covered in blood with all the nasty on her. I will wait a few minutes until she is semi clean and I'm sure someone will take a picture for us.

I agree with you in terms of a pushing picture but I disagree about the second part. One of my favorite pictures from my daughter's birth is right after she was born. I look awful, she's covered in gunk but it's the first time we saw each other. I won't hang it on the living room wall but I would have in a small frame next to my bed.

Trapped in a quote box, ugh.

I know I'm laying posting...been going to bed without bumping lately. Anyway...I had a glass of wine with dinner last weekend for valentines day and it was sooooooooooooooo good. It was even the cheap house wine. I also highlighted my hair. Oh and to really add to the thread, my sister in law told me she is planning a baby shower since this is a boy. I had a baby shower with my daughter in 2010. So far, I have set any rules about it and frankly I don't feel it's worth the fight if she wants to do it.

I do park in the expecting/parents with small children spots at Wegmans. I have a 3 year old and am pregnant and the convenience is my saving grace some days.
