Father/daughter dance

So tonight DD1's school is having a father/daughter mother/son dance and DD1 is so excited. When she first told me about it I was a little sad and worried about how she would handle it but I think she handled it like a pro. She told me she was lucky cause since she didn't have a dad she got to pick her "date" and she eventually asked her grandpa to take her.

You would think she was going to the prom instead of an hour long first grade dance lol her and her grandpa went dress shopping cause she convinced her grandpa she had nothing pretty enough to wear, and she wants me to go get her a corsage today like the big high school kids wear. I even took the night off tonight so I could do her hair for her.

I will for sure! And yeah one of her friends told her yesterday she wasn't going to go to the dance because her dad lived to far away to take her. Then DD1 told her friend that she was going to go with her grandpa and her friend told her my grandpa asked me if he could take me but I told him no because I was embarrassed that I would be the only one there with my grandpa. So DD1 told her I will be there with my grandpa but I'm not embarrassed cause my grandpa is a really good dancer you should go with your grandpa and we will be the cold kids with our grandpas that spoil us rotten and not just our boring dad's.

Thank you! Her hair is so thick it takes about an hour to get it curled that way.

I have hair that takes forever to curl with an iron, so i understand. Next time if your able, the night before give her a shower but some mouse in her hair then use socks to roll her hair then have her sleep on it and take the socks out about twenty to fourty minutes before you have to go. It gives great curls that last forever!

Oh I am going to have to try that! She loves her hair to be curled but we only do it on special occasions cause it takes so long to curl.

Look on youtube to see if they have tutorials. There are some great ways to roll hair for different looks :-)

My mom used to curl my hair that way because it was the only way to.get my hair to hold a curl.

My mom use to just have our hair permed because she said with three girls who liked their hair to be curly she just didn't have the time. I remember being in elementary school and my friends being jealoused cause my mom let me perm my hair but their moms told them they were to young.

And this will show how much i know.about hair, but damaging your hair by perming it, coloring it, using heat on your hair actually makes it easier to style your hair. Virgin hair is extremley hard to curl and style. My bleaced out blonde hair is much easier to curl then when i was younger and had virgin hair.

We had a school dance a couple weeks ago and I went as my daughter's date. It was just as fun!

Grandpa is my Dad. Here's one a friend took at the dance he held her all through one song and she thought it was the coolest thing. They are in the background I'm trying to see if anyone got a better one of them.
