I'm sick and tired of the soapboxing some people do on Facebook. If you are passionate about a cause, I get posting about it from time to time. But I have a couple of people on my Facebook who are getting up on their soapbox about a cause every day or every other day.
Yes, I get it that you are against GMOs and live a healthy lifestyle. You post about it every day. And your links are never to reputable sources, even though there are some decent sources out there.
Yes, I know that you want marijuana legalized. I figured it out when you posted about it yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that...
And now I am soapboxing about soapboxing! (But at least I don't do it everyday!)
That being said, I have MAJOR respect for y'all. My nurses and doctors have been so amazing through this. I just can't imagine the things they have to see and handle on a daily basis. I would be a blubbery mess.
+1 my girlfriend is a PICU nurse and everytime I see her I give her a hug because she's got to need it
I have another one! I didnt like Frozen. The music was amazing (Kristen Bell killed it) but I didn't like the message that if your sister treats you like shit you should just take it, but I might be projecting

Stuck in a box. I wouldn't say it was so much her sister treating her like crap as it was the fact that her parents sort of "abused" her in a way. They cut her off from everyone and told her it was bad to feel anything. They basically locked her in a room because she hurt her when she was a child. I mean.. you kind of understand where she's coming from considering..
Agreed! Definitely my favorite character in GoT. Speaking of GoT, my UO is that I know Jamie Lanister is humbled and blah blah blah from his ordeal in the last season, but I still hate him. and I am annoyed with Bran Stark. Figure out the vision already!

How far along is the show? From reading all the books, I recommend patience . GRRM likes to draw things out.
This may be unpopular to my locality, but hell, we can't be the only ones doing it... Wearing shorts when it's 40 degrees is out is NOT OKAY!! I get that the temporary warm up feels good, and that 40 compared to -17 with a windchill of -40 FEELS warm, but come on guys, it's still February!!
My husband's roommate in college does not own pants. He's from CT- aka 4 real seasons. He wears shorts year round. Not only does he look terrible in shorts (sorry dude) but I do not understand how he has not ended up with frostbite and lost a limb yet. One year we had like, 2 feet and he was just wandering out in the snow in his shorts for HOURS. His legs were SO red when he came in and he was all "no big deal guys, this happens all the time!" ^#(^

@numbersgirl08 I haven't read the books ( I have them but haven't started) but, Red Wedding just happened and I believe we are half way through A Storm of Swords.
I am ridiculously excited about the season starting soon in April.
@tiffletons518 I side eyes the parents FOR SURE and definitely felt for her, I'm just saying Anna didn't know any of that and just put up with being in that life. I mean she jumped in the arms of the first man that came by! If that's not low self esteem I don't know what is
I am sick of this 80 degree weather; I want to wear my sweaters!
((ducks and hides))
That is truly an unpopular opinion.
I know but IT'S FEBRUARY. Seriously, it's been too hot and we haven't even had rain this year so we're headed towards a major drought. We've already had a massive wildfire and those don't usually begin until August/September.
Anyone who doesn't believe in global warming is crazy. I hope that's a popular opinion around here...
I agree with that last statement. I'm always saying that. The weather has been crazy the last few years!
I could never be a nurse/ doctor.

Our PICU nurses were by far the best nurses in the hospital. I did 3 PICU rotations during my residency and they were some of the hardest months of my life. I can't count how many times I sat in the stairwell and cried! Tough stuff. But most of the kids got better and did great!
i think you should dress for the season you're in. last week it jumped up to 60 here and i saw a girl wearing a sweater, yellow {too short} shorts, and sandals. i dont care if we're coastal, i cant wear pastels in the fall or sandals/flip flops in december.
Yes, but if we're talking about fashion seasons, then I consider late February to be the beginning of spring. If it's warm enough, I'm totally busting out my sandals and florals. Mainly because I hate winter, but yesterday it climbed to 72 so I definitely dug out my cute sandals.
@wasnontwas Oh for sure she had issues, but I again trace that back to the parents. I mean, they cut both girls all from everyone. Anna was talking to the paintings for heavens sake. She was clearly desperate for love and companionship, hence Prince Jerkface. It's sad that Elsa treated her the way she did, but the parents probably told her it was ok. Just like they told Elsa that she basically was a danger to everyone and to be a loner. I mean, they screwed both those kids up hardcore. But, I totally agree with @kdc2007 it was nice to see them come together and be the ones who save the day. Not Prince Charming. And, I love that Prince Charming was actually "A pungent reindeer king" in the words of Olaf. ha.

I totally get what your saying. The only thing my SIL posts is about about how kids die everyday from allergic reactions, and sites about allergies and allergy awareness. We all know your son has allergies, but do you have to post it every time your online?
This is stemming off a conversation at work last night. I think you should have a hairstyle that is age appropriate. If you're Middle Aged with hair almost down to your butt you just look like you're desperately hanging on to your youth. If you're a grown woman with children and your hair looks like you frequent raves please don't complain to coworkers that you get side eyed at the pedis office or nobody invites you and Timmy to a play date
I don't think apple products are as great as people make them out to be.
How so? I think that the company makes good, reliable products. Yes, they only make like 3 different items, but their at least good at that. Apps are awesome on Apple vs. Android. I really hate the company though.
I think planning the first birthday party this far out is way too soon. My aunt asked me the other day what I was planning. "I have no clue woman, he's not even 8 months!!"
@42butterflies. I'm sorry you are broken. I make microwave s'mores and can put away like a whole package of Hershey's chocolate bars they are so delish

Agree! I don't ever start to think about birthdays until a month out and that is only because I make photo invites on shutter fly. I throw pretty elaborate birthdays too!
Does anyone know if I can skip Game of Thrones books 1 and 2 if I have seen the show? Someone mentioned it to me and I wasn't sure if it was true. I started the first book last year but it was when I was pregnant and I kept falling asleep.
I've seen the first season but haven't seen the second, and I've read all the books. Season 1 followed Book 1 fairly well. From what I read on the source-of-all-official-knowledge Wikipedia, "Seasons 1 and 2 each adapted one novel. For the later seasons, the creators conceive of Game of Thrones as an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire as a whole, rather than of individual novels.[34] This gives them the liberty to move events back and forth across books according to the requirements of the screen adaptation". So Seasons 1 and 2 adapted books 1 and 2. There clearly isn't quite as much detail in the show as in the books but based on watching season 1 vs. book 1 I think you're fine skipping books 1 and 2. But after that it isn't as clear cut.
The books are good. In a slow and painful way haha. Waiting for the next book is NOT fun and GRRM needs to get on the ball!

Here's my issues with Apple, besides their less than stellar company issues:
If you work in the physical design industry (like I do- Architecture), your best choice programs for compatibility with other consultants and business peers are PC based (I much prefer AutoCad over ArchiCad). However, what my field really need is Apple style output, with PC based workhorse capability. Also... my work Apple is constantly PANICing when I'm working in 3D. My PC gets slow and chuggy sometimes, but at least I can PURGE my files without losing all my layouts. I know that's alot of field-specific terms but ARGH.
Also, I like that with my PC based products I don't have to deal with so much program junk when utilizing them together- I hook up my Android to my computer and BOOM it's like a USB. No syncing via iTunes only. And my GMAIL syncs my contacts/email/calendar BOOM. I know there's some cloud for Apple products, but I can't handle accounts all over the place.
Also I'm a cheapskate, so my phone is always always always at least one generation back when I purchase it. with Android updates, there's less loss of capability- I don't have issues with the new OS because it functions with my phone too. My co-workers had issues for weeks with the last OS update on their iPhones because they hadn't gotten the new ones yet. I've had an iPhone, I didn't hate it. But I've had less crabbiness with my phone with my Android.
Also... my brother is computer genius man. He has all PCs. His wife is an Apple junky. Her screen broke and he was saying when he replaced it, EVERY SINGLE SCREW WAS A DIFFERENT SIZE. Rude apple. No wonder your products cost so much- you make their assembly as difficult as possible.

+1
It's excruciating waiting for this next book, but I think the books are so much better than the mini series.
Well, yeah, I agree that based on quality the books are better (isn't that always the case). But purely based on plot it doesn't matter.

I am obviously sleep deprived today. I read the original post and thought to myself "No one ever tells me how awesome applesauce is, if you don't like apples just don't eat them."
** I am typing this via a Mac Air, which I happen to love.
When I lived in the south, spring started whenever the weather started to consistently hit 70 degrees. So March-ish typically I guess. I'm gonna go crazy here wearing sweaters forever!
I bought N a ton of cute summer clothes last week when Carters was having a big sale and I'm SO EXCITED about it being warm enough and her being big enough to wear them. So many cute rompers and dresses. I LOVE spring/summer fashion - I'd pick a cute sundress and sandals over sweaters and boots any day.
I think alcohol at children's birthdays is ridiculous. They are usually mid-day and should be about the kid. Celebrate keeping your kid alive when the party for them is over. Let kids be kids.
I think parents who sick their 3+ year old in a shopping cart seat are ridiculous. They are too big!! If they want a ride, have them stand at the end of the cart!

I totally agree!! I think it's tacky as hell to have adult beverages at a kids party!
Me, too! I'm going to get one as my present to myself for finishing pumping. I have 11 and want many more I'm getting my first for my birthday in July!!

My uo is that I don't like the new Mickey Mouse shorts on Disney jr. They tried to make it look like the old cartoons and I just find goofy scary!
I wouldn't do it but that's just me.
