Saline Sonogram Results :(

I had my saline sonogram this morning and they found something.  I wish these doctors would have some empathy for us IF patients.  First my appt started with the tech telling me the saline sonogram wouldn't be so bad at least I wasn't there for a hysteroscopy - funny thing is I have to do that now so he had to eat his words. 
Perhaps, the best part of the appt was having to do a pregnancy test to see "IF" I was pregnant before I could do the saline sonogram of course it was negative.  I have to schedule a hysteroscopy before I can even think about going forward with our cycle in April and at this point I'm just hoping it doesn't delay our cycle.  I have been all over the internet and checking Dr. Google to see how bad this procedure is - my doctor said it's a painful process - hoping others here will tell me it's not so bad. 

Somedays you just want to go back to bed and start the day over again - that was my day today - thanks for letting me vent ladies.....

I'm so sorry about your u/s results!! Did you schedule your hysteroscopy yet? I have one on Monday plus an endometrial biopsy so I'm hoping people don't have horror stories!! I think the opinions on this are pretty mixed - some say painful and others say no big deal. Good luck to you!!

What's the reason for the hysteroscopy?  I had a polyp and some assorted other crap on my uterus that needed to scraped off before I could cycle the first time.  The rationale was that if I didn't the embryo(s) might not have somewhere to "stick."

It did end up delaying us by one full cycle, so the lining could rebuild, which sucked, but on the plus side, my first IVF cycle did end working and I didn't need to repeat the procedure before IVF #2, which also worked on the first try.

FX, whatever the reason you need it, you have equally good results afterward!

I haven't scheduled it yet. Coordinator is supposed to call me on Friday and she's scheduling in March. I hope yours goes well on Monday Ivwill keep an eye out for your update.

I have a polyp that needs removing the theory from the doctor is that these can occur after childbirth but who really knows where it came from. Good to hear it may have had a positive effect on your cycle

I'm sorry you are having your third one. I'm really hoping it's your last. My understanding is I will be awake. I will be given Valium and Norco and then an IM shot and then they will numb my cervix. Sounds like a party not! . Sounds like all of the hysteroscopies they perform are under
local I'm really bummed about that! I've had twilight for my egg retrievals and that was a piece of cake. I just have to suck it up I guess.

No advice, but I'm sorry I hope it's not too painful and that it'll be a big step towards a successful cycle!

I had a hysteroscopy prior to IVF #2 to remove some polyps and it was no big deal. I was out for the procedure. I think I just had some cramps/bleeding that day, and then cramps without the bleeding the day after.  Good luck!

I too was knocked out for my hysteroscopy and only felt light cramping after. The saline sonogram hurt a lot worse. Hope they can clear out that polyp so you can move forward.

I'm sorry you have to have one. I thought it hurt like hell. I didn't take anything and I wish I asked my doctor to write me a prescription because I actually cursed out the doctor doing it. Eek..hope all goes well!

I have had a couple of operative hysteroscopies.  But, they were both while under twighlight sedation.  I did have a cyst drained with just a local, though.  That was painful!  Probably mostly because everytime he would jab my ovary it would roll!

Good luck!  I hope it itsn't as bad as they say.  If they think it is so bad, they really should consider doing the twighlight sedation.

@ mcgeeva This is what I was worried about doesn't sound fun! It sounds like you were awake did they numb you at all?
