DH at appointments

This was asked a long time ago, but now that we're closer to the end I'm wondering if things have changed.

Does your DH go to your appts now that we're at the end?  Mine came to the important scans (7, 12,16,20 weeks) and I made him come to the rhogam appt because I hate shots.  I start my weekly appts next week, and my OB does weekly NSTs starting at 37 weeks.

What should he be coming to at this point?  What appts does yours go to?

DH goes to none unless he can sneak away. He's actually home during my appt. next week and I'm leaving him home with DS. When I was pregnant with DS he came to 90% of them.

DH only goes to ones with ultrasounds. I've have 3 extras due to checking on DS kidneys so he comes to those. With DS1 he came to a lot more appointments because his work schedule was more flexible. But stopped when I started everyother week and weekly appointments.

My DH came to all ultrasounds. We don't plan on him coming to any appointments unless there's an issue. He's trying to save his paid time off to stay home after LO gets here. But I also didn't realize the appts might be any different than the 15 minute how-do-ya-do that they have been. Haha. So we'll see.

I have ~3 appointments per week now. He comes if he's off work, or if it's something out of the ordinary.

Nope. He made it to the A/S. If he's home I make him stay with DS. I prefer that over him going.

My husband tries to come to every appointment, but it depends if there is someone to cover him at work.  I have one tomorrow, and its at 3, so he won't be able to make it.  I was measuring small, and the doctor mentioned that if I'm still measuring small, I may have an ultrasound.  I'm not sure if she would send me to the hospital for an ultrasound tomorrow afternoon, or if they would have me schedule it in the next few days.  He will be mad if he misses an ultrasound (even though I just had a BPP yesterday, and he got to see her).

My DH came to the early scans, and he came today as we had an ultrasound. We are off for an NST on Monday so he will come just in case we get induced. I think your DH would be fine to go to these last few.

Mine comes to every appt. He is self employed and it is easy for him to adjust his schedule so we don't have scheduling issues that might make it harder for some couples. I didn't get NST but he probably would have skipped those or only attended the NST with the ultrasound (can't remember the acronym).

Mine goes to any appointment that he's able to. He's missed a couple, but it's NBD since most are just check baby's heartbeat and pee in a cup.

He went to my u/s last week (37w), but will miss tomorrow's routine quick visit. My mom will be in town next week and asked to come to an appointment, so I bet DH will skip that one. If I get to 40w I think he'll go to that one because he's concerned about induction and will want to ask about it again.

If I ever told him I needed him to be there, he definitely would. It's just that now we're so close to the end and I feel a lot more comfortable. Plus, he's got some crap happening at work that makes it harder for him to leave like he used to.

My H came to u/s appointments but that's it. If there were something wrong or a concern he'd come. I just don't see a point for him to be there. He always asks what they say or if there's any news. They've, thankfully, been uneventful.

Mine has only come to ultrasounds. My appointments are so quick and boring, there's really no reason for him to take time off work for them.

My husband comes to every appointment.  He works from home so he has a very flexible work schedule.

My DH works nights so if my appointment is in the morning he comes with me before he goes to sleep... It's getting harder now that I go twice a week for a NST and BPP.

My husband has come to most of my appointments. I have weekly NSTs and BPPs. He hasn't come to the NSTs but he has come to the weekly BPPs. He loves seeing the baby on the ultrasound and wanted to be there just in case anything went wrong. I think it's more important for him to be at my later appts since labor is getting closer.

Mine came to all RE appointments and the major OB/high risk appts. He works overnights and gets home at 7, while my appts are usually at 9. As such, I don't ask him to go. My BPP and NST appts started at 35 weeks and I don't ask him to go to those either because they are long and involve a lot of laying around.

mine only went to one at the beginning (to meet the doctor), then the A/S. two weeks ago I was told baby is breech, so we have been able to schedule the appointments so he can be there to follow the process and here my questions etc. my appts are weekly now. he even went to my chiro appt today.

his reasons are mostly because he hears more rather than having me attempt to repeat everything that was said. it's not too hard to book my appts at a time where he can go.

MH came to my appt yesterday only because we had spent the night in L&D the night prior and we figured it could be an important appt.

He'll go next week because I am having my cerclage removed and I need him there for that, and we're also having a growth scan.  Other than that he hasn't been to an appt since the a/s and won't be going to any others most likely.

Yes and no.
He came to all up to A/S.
But now that i am on my docs "monday" schedule and that is his day off he has been coming.

Plus since we are so close and dr could be like oh you are in labor its nice to have him there just in case.
And the fact that i forget everything 5 minutes after it has been told to me- he reminds me what was said.

Mine has been to all and only because he is on L&I and so hes currently not working. If he was working he probably would have only gone to the really important ones. I do like that he comes with me though, especially since we can take the carpool lane in the morning and I don't have to sit in a bunch of traffic by myself

My hubs has been to 2 appointments I believe? One was my 12 week and he got to see baby girl on the US and he loved that, then the other one was a random one that he was able to make because he called out of work that day sick. For the most part, between his job and his apprenticeship, he can't take much time off for appointments. I doesn't bother me though, and he always told me if I needed him there for anything to just call and he would come running. He does plan to take a week or two off of work after baby comes!!

Mine has come to all but his regular days off are Thursday and Friday and he works Saturday and Sundays so it's easier for him to make it to appts than the average working person

He only came to the first appointment (huge waste of time for him, but we didn't know how boring it would be beforehand - I thought they would "do" more things!) and the a/s. He has to take like half a day off work if he were to come to any appointment, so that's definitely not worth it as I'd rather him save those days for when the baby is here!

H comes to all of my appointments, we are on a Friday rotation and it works with his schedule. Plus we go early and our older boys are in school so its as close to a date as we get

I have my 37wk appt tomorrow and an ultrasound before. He is going to try to come to the next 3 appts, since they will be the last ones probably. They are alternating NSTs and u/s, and then I see the dr. At each appt. Plus I see a male dr I've never met before tomorrow and the next appt, and he will prob be doing cervical checks and possibly stripping my membranes next week, so I'd like MH to be there for those. He hasn't been coming for a while. He came to my last u/s 2 wks ago but hadn't been before that for a few mos. I think. I honestly can't remember when the last time he was there after the a/s. Oh wait, he came to both the glucose tests with me in Dec. yup yup.

Mine came to all of them through 20 weeks. Now, it is too hard to get appointments on his days off so he hasn't been in a while. He does come to my NSTs because I have a little more wiggle room in scheduling those.

My last two appointments are tomorrow, I'm so excited!

Mine came to all of my early ones, because of my miscarriage history.  And then he just came to the ultrasounds.  I don't see any reason for him to come to these now unless my midwife tells me there's something to be worried about.  He works 80 + hours a week and if he happens to be off when I have an appointment, I much rather him stay home and prop his feet up and play his game or watch TV for his rare time off than spend it sitting in a doctor's office.

I started getting weekly appointments at 30 weeks, and that's the last Appt DH went to. Beforehand he came to every one. He really wanted to save his PTO for her birth/weeks afterward, so I was fine going by myself. Sometimes I'd record her heartbeat on the NST for him .

DH came to the first appt and the Anatomy scan, then I made him come to my 30 week appt. cause I switched Dr.

The weekly appointments in my opinion are no more exciting then the ones leading up to it other then you are closer to your date.

Also where I have to for the NST's, only the patient is allowed in the room where they have several recliners and machines and multiple women hooked up at one time, so DH would just be waiting in the lobby anyway.

DH hasn't made it to any appointments yet, but I have an ultrasound on Friday and he's planning to come to that. Our early appointments were a whirlwind of tests and things, and I think it was a little overwhelming for both of us. I guess I got into the habit of going alone. I'm looking forward to him coming this week since it will be his first time seeing our son

No, he came to the early ones when I was having issues but not anymore. Thankfully they have been very uneventful....weight, BP, heart beat, measurement and out the door. I just can't see any reason to have him miss work. Heck if I didn't go on my days off I'd be pissed about missing work for them! I do think he like waits by the phone though because a few times I forgot to send him the 'another uneventful appt' text and he started blowing up my phone.

DH came to all my appointments with DS, however this time he only had been to a select few with this pregnancy and even he couldn't make the ultrasound one due to his new job... I was sort of upset about that one but I understood.

All of my appts are in the evening - like 6:45, 7pm, so it doesn't affect work.  Gives us something to think about!

He came to the A/S. My appts are so quick and boring. He came to a lot more my first pregnancy though.

He comes to routine ones when he can. He gets sad when he misses the heartbeat. He has made it to all the u/s ones, and will be there Friday for the growth scan.

He has only missed two appointments out of them all. I tried changing the time I usually go to a different time which wouldn't have worked for him, but would've made it so I wasn't missing so much work. Apparently everyone has that idea because there's never any at that time available. Lol.

So, DH will continue to go as long as he doesn't have a work conflict.

DH came to my first two initial appointments and then both times I had an u/s. I'm usually in and out so there isn't really a point if him showing up every time.

Mine only came for my ultrasounds so last time was 20 weeks.
Nothing really happens at my appointments so there's not much point.
