What to expect first year question

I'm sure this is a dumb question. The milestones listed in this book say 'by 4 months your baby should'... Do you interpret that as the beginning of 4 months or the end?

Here's a pic for your time. Another stupid question - is there something I can do on my phone to get my pics to post vertically?

Re: What to expect first year question

  • I would say when your baby turns 4 months old  - so the end of the 4th month. At least that's how I interpret it.

  • I honestly have no idea. All I know is there are certain things he's not doing and it worries me. He will be 4 mos on the 26th.

  • When they turn four months. But I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. Babies all develop completely differently. If you're concerned about something talk to your pedi. Reaching milestones late doesn't always mean something is wrong. As long as some of the milestones are met, it's all pretty normal.

  • I usually think it is sometime during the month but a week or two late/early is NBD. I always picture a bell curve and remind myself some kids are just on the ends.

However if you are concerned and you are going to the pedi you might as well ask.

  • In the very early months, i often think they add things that are not typical just to have enough to write. Fwiw (and this isn't meant to sound braggy) DD1 is pretty advanced in most areas at 3 years but she never rolled over. She Just was fine with whatever pairing she was in and had no reason to roll i guess. She sat up at 5months But didn't walk until 13 or 14 months. But she basically took her first steps and never crawled again. There are deft things I'd be concerned about, but few at this age.
