More Bday- would you hate this?

I've had this idea brewing in my head for a long time, and I think this is the summer to make it a reality. I want to do a "Beautiful Mess" combined b-day party for my kids in the back yard, doing all the things I've pinned on pinterest that look like a blast but will make a huge mess. Like making mud pies, covering the slide with shaving cream, all kinds of games that involve getting covered in food and mud and yucky stuff. Kids could wear their swimsuits or whatever their parents wanted them to, and they'd have to bring clean clothes to change into for the ride home. I think it sounds like so much fun and I know MY kids would LOVE it, but would yours? Would you hate it as a parent/guest??

What do you mean by getting out of hand and crazy though? Because letting them be wild and get super messy is really the point, so if that's what would make you mad, then I'm gonna count your vote as a NO for this party.

My co-worker did that for her daughter's birthday, but she was a tween. I think it's a cool idea, maybe fire up the sprinklers to clean off the kiddos. And definitely let the parents know to bring a change of clothes (for the kids and themselves)

I think it sounds like fun. I would appreciate a hose off after but it sounds like a fun party! You are braver than I am! One thing to think about for you - bathroom. They would all have to treck into your house to pee which could get very messy....

Good point... Maybe I could make a trash bag path to walk on. Haha

I can't decide if I love or hate your idea. Part of me saying - how cool, LO would love it and I don't need to clean afterwards, but the other part of me just cringe thinking of how many things can go wrong with all the mess. You are brave!

Hmmm... Maybe! A few of the ideas were specific to what I have in my yard, but they could probably be reworked. Good thinking!

Thanks for all your feedback ladies! Definitely think I'll pursue it. It will take a LOT more planning than any other party I've done (I'm normally very low key in that department) so I need to get to work!
