Watching American idol and the girls name is Jena pronounced like Gina. Why?I mean I get that it's not Jenna but that's just bad.

    She was pretty annoyed that Randy called her Jenna...I'm assuming most people make that mistake.

    My LO is nn Lina (like Tina) and I can't tell you all the times we hear lye-na. So then I say, like Lena Dunham..which brings me to Jena. Definitely, confusing spelling choice but I sympathize.

    One of my best friends is Jena pronounced like Jenna. I don't think I've ever heard anyone call her Gina.

    One of my best friends is Gina, spelled that way. You would not believe how often people misspell it with a J. Makes no earthly sense.

    Thus girls name is pronounced like Gina but spelled Jena...I can't figure it out

    LOL-- I am an Idol fan and also thought of this board.  Poor Jena!.

    It reminds me of the 40 year old virgin, when that girl's name is Gina but pronounces it jy-nuh. I'd post a pic but I'm on mobile. :((
