Reflex treating question

At Rebecca's 4mth appointment I told the doctor how she seems to cough/choke a fair amount when on her back. And you can hear her swallowing. She doesn't spit up though.
Doctor said she probably has a mild reflex but isn't going to treat it because it's not effecting her feeding. Should I request she treats her? Or get a 2nd opinion? Or is it normal not to treat a "mild case"
We do have a wedge in her crib for sleeping

Re: Reflex treating question

  • My babe has reflux too, but it was causing her such discomfort (super fussy, spitting up all day, crying in pain, not sleeping etc). Dr. Rx'd Zantac 2xday and I can't wait to try and wean her off of it! I wouldn't do medicine unless it's really bad, doesn't sound like it is. There are things you can do to alleviate mild discomfort, the sleeping wedge is great! I also nurse her semi upright, gravity helps keep things down and burp her often. I also found that smaller, more frequent feedings help. With that said though, you're the momma and you know best for your babe! If you want it treated you should tell the Dr.
