CPT: Was delivery what you expected?

Re: CPT: Was delivery what you expected?

  • Even though it was faster (6 hours to the minute from start to finish) it was so much harder. Expecting an epi and having it not take effect was hellish.

  • Better. I expected labor to last forever and to push for hours. I also wanted to go med free but was so upset over not being able to reach MH that I said screw it and got the epi around 6cm. Contractions until that point were rough but bearable. Recovery was much better than expected.

  • I voted harder because I hadn't expected to be pushing for over 3hrs. I dilated quickly, she just wasn't in the right position. I also had not expected the horrific pain from a vacuum assisted delivery.
This, but I only pushed for 2 hours. I also wasn't excepting to need pitocin after going into labor on my own. Nor was I prepared for how suddenly and how much worse the contractions would  be once the pitocin was started.  It was so much worse than I expected I'm considering not having another baby. I am a big wuss.

  • I put easier. Although I was induced, I never got to feel what I would say was gut wrenching pain. My oldest sister kept telling me to get the epidural before I couldn't sit still because of pain and I'm glad I did. I was nervous about the whole process, but everything went fine.

  • Harder.  I didn't think labor could be as bad as it was with my son, but of course it was.  I should have known, haha.  My epi stopped working, and I went through transition and pushing with no pain meds, which I absolutely did not want, or expect.  I did push her out even quicker than I did my son (2 pushes with her, 10 minutes with him), so at least that was a little better.

  • I guess easier, well the delivery part but the entire labor was harder than I thought. I was in labor for 24 hours. Which I was home with contractions for 15 hours and then went to the hospital. It was a very exhausting 15 hours of my life. I did get the epidural and with that everything I thought was easy. :). Recovery not so much with a 3rd degree episiotomy.
  • I voted harder because I didn't expect to be pushing for 2hrs, or to have an asta attack while pushing and almost pass out while on oxygen.

  • I voted harder because I wasn't expecting to have a c-section. Maybe not 'harder' so much as 'unexpected'.
