Baby Showers

Baby Shower Games For High Tea Theme?

Hello Lovely Ladies!

I can't believe I am asking this, but my best girlfriend from HS is pregnant and having a baby shower late next month (she's due mid May).  I will be travelling to attend this shower ( I am in NY and she is in South FL).  That is not a problem-- she's always travelled for my events and I will be happy to have a few days break from LO and H.

The issue is that her mom called me and asked that I be in charge of the games--quelle horreur.  I HATE shower games.  Hatehatehate, but MTB LOVES them, and I wouldl love to help in any way, despite my distaste for games.  Since I am going to be travelling, I will have to take the components for any game we play on a plane.  I am planning on BS bingo (easy to put together and portable) but I am drawing a blank on what else to plan.

Baby shower is high tea themed and is an a fancy schmance counrty club, so anything referencing that theme is a big fat plus.

TIA!

It's not exactly "High Tea themed" but you could do a matching game with the names of Royal Parents and their offspring.

Are you??  I don't want to say the name of the place (not sure if MTB lurks here or not) but it's in W. Palm Beach.

I did think about doing something with the royals, but I was wondering if anyone but myself and the MTB would enjoy it.

I am open to any suggestions though-- themed or not-- that could travel well.

I also hate games but I do think the royal family idea was good with pairing of the parents and children. I like basic and simple so maybe unscramble the words?  I just went to a shower where they did a trivia type game where they asked both the MTB and DTB seperatly questions regarding baby care.  Guests had to guess how many correct each parent to be would get and the closest won.  It was a bit different which was nice and there was none of that crazy guess the candy bar in diaper horrific games.  But really I think the Bingo and guessing Royal families might be enough game wise?

I went to a shower where they did that also-- asked the MTB and DTB questions.  it was cute, but a little messy/ confusing.

I will probably do another trivia type game-- I wish the tradition of games would die out already!

    I like these ideas!

Why oh why do you have to have games at a high tea?!  My baby shower was a high tea and games just would have been really weird given the setting.  But anyway, I know it's not your call :) The only other thing I could think of would be putting a sticker under one tea cup at each table and those people get a prize, nice and simple.

That's actually not a bad idea-- it doesn't force people to participate in anything ridic-- AND I totally agree with you!

  • Ok heres a dumb one, but you could have a tiered dessert tray piled up with sweets and/ or baby items and then you take it around and people later have to remember as many of the items as they can... Kinda like that clothesline game? Shoot I don't even remember how that game goes, but I feel like I'm onto something...
  • Thought of one more that is low on the obnoxious scale, what about putting a bunch of tea bags into a mason jar and having each guest write down a guess as to how many tea bags are in the jar?
