Hi ladies! I've been TTC #1 for about a year now and have been diagnosed with Unexplained Infertility. All b/w, u/s, hormones, HSG, saline ultrasounds, everything is perfectly normal. My uterus and eggs (when they choose to develop) are, as my RE puts it, "textbook". My DH has excellent morphology, motility and numbers. My RE and I have come to the conclusion that a couple issues are coming up. 1- irregular ovulation and 2- little to no CM. We completed 3 rounds of oral meds (that fixed the ovulation problem) with no success and even less CM and are now moving on to IUI with injectables (Gonal-f and ovidrel). We will also be using my DH's frozen specimen (he was relocated). My question is:
Is there anyone here who has a similar case history who has had IUI with injectables?
If so, how many rounds did you go through before you were successful? Were the side effects, if any, of the meds hard to deal with? Did you become pregnant with a singlet or multiples?
I've not done injectables and am a little nervous about the whole process. My doctor can only really tell me the general success rates...I want to kind of compare those to women who have cases similar to mine. Hopefully there's a couple of you out there
Me: 31, DH: 34
Me- Unexplained infertility...RE says most likely due to lack of CM. DH- excellent morphology, motility and count.
05/13- I married a USAF pilot turned financial advisor. My very own perfectionist
09/13- diagnosed with Unexplained Infertility
09/13- HSG test. Normal results.
10/13- clomid 50mg,
11/13- clomid 50mg day 3-5, discontinued due to vision side effects, letrozole 5mg day 5-9.
12/13- letrozole 5mg.
1/14- IUI was a no go due to appointment mix-up in office. blah
1/14- 3 vials of DH's good stuff frozen- he was relocated
2/14- IUI cancelled due to no injectable meds coverage from Tricare
2/14- saline u/s at hospital so I could have injectables covered by Tricare, plan worked!! They're now covered whew!
3/14- IUI already cancelled due to office lab closing for yearly maintenance and regulations...
4/14- IUI with gonal-f and ovidrel...crossing my fingers this cycle will be THE cycle to get this IUI journey started!
Re: Success rates??
Unfortunately, we did not have success with IUI. We did several textbook IUI and our RE and nurses were shocked that we never got a BFP. We did have success (BFP) twice with IVF and our dd is now almost a year old
I don't want to discourage you with my experience. I suspect that I have an immune issue that hasn't been detected yet as I have three autoimmune disorders (go me!). However, as it stands, we are unexplained as well. Hopefully some other girls will chime in here as I know we have a few with unexplained IF and have been successful with IUI.
Best of luck to you!

As far as medication, I don't remember having any super unusual side effects. I did overstimulate once and felt very "full" in the ovary area, but that's about it. Anyway, I wanted to wish you GL with your cycle. Unexplained is such a frustrating diagnosis, but IUI success rates can be really good. Best of luck to you!!

Thank you all for your input, I appreciate it! The Unexplained Infertility is a difficult one. Even though all the testing is coming back normal (great news!) there is still a problem (very frustrating!). Since we have 3 months of time (before we move) and 3 vials frozen, my RE suggested 2 rounds of IUI and then go ahead and move to IVF, especially since we are OOP people, ugh.
