AW: Ben's First Birthday Party PIP Heavy (mrsjessicamitchell)

So, ladies, I can no longer deny I am the mom of a toddler! We had Ben's party on Saturday, and it was awesome! Everything came together really well, and the train theme was a big hit! All the decorations (except for the giant balloon train) were made by me with DH's help!

The balloon train was done by a friend of a coworker! My coworker's son turned 1 10 days before Ben, and she had her friend do balloons for her son's party (Mickey Mouse theme). When I was looking at her pics, I asked for her friend's contact info. It was really reasonably priced, too, and she came and set it all up for us at the party!

I ended up going with an apple swirl cake with a basic confection sugar glaze! He did love it! We're still eating the demolished leftovers because they are so yummy! I did get razzed a bit by some of the other moms at his party that I didn't do a traditional cake, but I just stood my ground. I don't want him eating all that sugary crap!
