XP- used angelcare monitor?

I have always thought these things were overkill but this baby is such a sound sleeper that I'm strongly considering purchasing one for peace of mind. Her breathing is VERY quiet... DH and I have both found it hard to tell if she was breathing in the Swaddle. We already have a video monitor so we don't need the fancy new Angelcare that they sell at BRU (which sucks b/c I have a big gift card to use there!). We really just need the original movement only monitor. There are a few on CL in my area- just wondering if there is any reason NOT to buy this used?

I just checked on Amazon, and it seems that they're about the same price.

I have the Snuza and I chose it over the AngelCare because it is always with the baby.  Our babies didn't always nap in their cribs so I felt like the AngelCare was useless until they did.  It was on them in the rock n play or the pack n play, etc.  Loved ours. We have the orange one and it will be used for baby #3 here shortly.

We had an Angelcare with our first (and it worked just fine), but decided to go with the Snuza for DS2.  We went with the SnuzaGo and loved it.  It worked well, was easy to use and cheaper than the Angelcare.  It's much more portable also, so if you travel, you don't have to unhook everything to take it with you.

We had an AngelCare for DS1 and loved it. There was a recall on them, but it just involved a kit to fasten down the wire (a lot of video monitors went through the same thing a few years back). I don't think there's any reason not to buy one used, as long as you make sure the wire for the sensor pad is securely fastened down so baby can't reach it or pull it into the crib.
