Re: TTC Check-In

  • Good morning everyone!
I am waiting for an hcg blood draw to make sure it is back down to zero. This period of time is really strange because I have no idea what is happening... Whether I o'ed after mc yet or if I am still waiting to. Skipping a cycle is killing me. I am so tired of waiting. My temps are all over the place and OPK's are not detecting any surge. We aren't doing an IUI this cycle, but I want to know when I ovulate so I can know when to expect CD1. So... Yeah.... Just a lot of freaking waiting happening here.

QOTD: I may be getting a promotion in the near future. The boss wants me for the job, and has told me, but HR and the "higher ups" still want me to interview. I am looking at the interview as a way to knock them dead so i can barter a better salary.
This promotion would be amazing because it is one of 3 big life goals that I have set for myself. Last year i made no progress on any of the goals and this year we at least learned we can get pregnant, and if this promotion comes through I will have a career that I can stay in for a while.... So... If it happens it will be great!

Today is CD 11 for me. Just got done with blood work and u/s. Looks like we have two good follies. One is 18 and the other is 15. There is also another at 14.5. As long as my blood work comes back looking good, we will trigger tonight and have our IUI Wednesday at 7:30 am.

ETA: I know 18 and 15 sound small still; however, with Gonal-F, my RE has me trigger when at least one is at 18 since they mature faster.

QOTD: My plan was for my answer to not be TTC related; however, I'm pretty excited that everything went well with my appointment this morning. I'm very happy to be able to have an IUI this cycle. I feel like a bit of my anxiety has lifted.

  • Today is CD 11 for me too. I'm doing OPK's twice a day to figure out when I'll ovulate.  I have appointments set for tomorrow through next Monday, but if I have a "normal" cycle this month I'll end up going in either tomorrow or Wednesday.  Sometimes my cycle is weird though, and I'll O as late as CD 22. FX for a normal cycle! Then we'll totally be 2WW buddies, @StacyLH24

Last cycle's BFN was hard to stomach; here's hoping it was the last one!

QOTD: My mom flew into town late last night! She was supposed to get in Saturday evening, but her flight got cancelled.  I'm excited she's finally here.

  • Today is CD 8 for me and I have just finished my dosages of Femara 5mg. I am scheduled for an ultrasound for monitoring on Wednesday which is CD 10. This is earlier than most people, but because I didn't respond at all to clomid last cycle, they want to monitor me early just in case I don't respond. My fingers and toes are all crossed tightly that there is some kind of follicle growth this cycle.

I have ordered ovidrill and it should be here in the next day or so. Once I get the go ahead from the RE, I will trigger and we will do our at-home inseminations. This will be the first time using a trigger, so I'm not sure what to expect.

For those of you who use a trigger, do you still:

    1. Do any at home opks?
    2. Continue taking temps?

I'm certain they will put me on progesterone almost immediately after our ICI's because of last month's low numbers. I believe I will stop temping while I do this so that we don't get over excited at the higher (progesterone induced) temps.

QOTW: It's supposed to actually go into the upper 30's and low 40's here this week. Words can not express my joy over this news. I need to get on a trail!

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.
    • DW and I have been tracking, preparing, getting medical testing since January 2013.

    • Third Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm: 10/13/13, 10/15/13, 10/17/13, 10/21/13: BFN
    • January 2014: Sonohysterogram shows excellent lining & tubes have no blockages
    • Fourth Cycle:  Monitored clomid cycle  w/ ICI's at home: 1/24/14 and 1/25/14. Ovulation verified:  BFN
    • Fifth Cycle: 02/2014 Femara 5mg with ovidrel trigger CD14: BFN
    • Taking a few months off to evaluate if we want to keep trying

  • @SweetPea0307 - I always have the intention of waiting for my beta but that never happens. I start at 10 dpo and imagine I will this time.

@GoaliesWife123 - I haven't ever temped regularly. I intended to, but I found it to be more of a pain than being helpful. I don't remember, but I think that I did use OPKs before I triggered just to make sure my surge didn't come before. It was optional though. Testing after you trigger isn't helpful for seeing if you ovulated because of the extra hormones. Testing with pregnancy tests is helpful because then you can test out the trigger. That way, you will know that a BFP is really a BFP and not left over from the trigger.

  • Still in a holding pattern.  Last beta (a week and a half ago) was down to 13, so I have one more blood draw later this week and that should be it (assuming it's back to normal).  We've been given the go ahead to start again whenever we're reading.  No AF yet though.
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • I had my IUI this morning. I will have another tomorrow, then on to the TWW. My RE automatically puts me on progesterone.

QOTD: Over the weekend I went to a place called Pretty Kitty...hopefully my RE appreciates it as much as I hate the feeling of 80's porn bush. :P
  • Just a little update from us. C went in for a beta this morning and we are back to a baseline of 2. This is good news for us because it means we get to try again next month (assuming all goes well).

QOTD: My positive news is that I feel as though things are going well for C and I in the career department. When my campus closed a year and a half ago we made the decision that I would stay home because I was going to be a SAHM...HA...well it's been a little over a year and we are still sans baby but I have started my own business AND I am working from home doing a lot of different things which works out really awesome for me because I get really bored really easy.

Queer coupled and having a BABY with the love of my life! Love my life and wouldn't have it any other way!
First IUI 1/22/2013 BFN: 2/7/2013, Second IUI 2/21/2013 BFN: 3/9/2013, Third IUI 4/23/2013 BFN: 5/8/2013, Fourth IUI 5/24/2013 BFN: 6/7/2013, Fifth IUI 6/24/2013 BFN: 7/8/2013

  • My SO is starting our trial run with OPK this week. She has been amazing working on a diet and sticking with it. I am so proud of her. Just hoping that we get that smiley face and can confirm with blood work she ovulated but we will see. Other news I have started seeing a therapist and she is really helping me with coming in to the roll of being the non pregnant parent potentially. Other great news is we are approved to use the same donor we had for me. So I dont have to buy anything we have 2 vials left in storage. We know for sure we will do a minimum of 3 cycles IUI with SO before we will consider the IVF from her to me and becuase she has a diagnosis both our additional fertility treatments will open up. THis makes me hopeful but I still prefer it working on of the first two times so fingers crossed :)

QOTD: This is going to be more of an invitation than question. Please share something positive with us. It can be about anything...TTC related, something else in your life, something in the news, etc. Something positive since we started our new diets my SO and I have both lost 5 lbs as of this morning. We also booked a trip to FL for April cant wait :)

Married in September 2010, started TTC journey November 2012

    Me-

RPL blood work 12/27, showed a balance translocation in chromosome 11;22

New Plan: Reciprocal IVF, me as carrier wife's eggs. Just went through insurance and received partial approval, so my part will go through my IVF benefits and wife's part will be out of pocket. Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.

  • Hey y'all!  I got a BFN this cycle and stopped my Prometrium on Saturday.  Still waiting for AF - my temps are still elevated and it's strange.  It's making me sort of crazy, really.  This combined with a severe loss of appetite is just... odd.  I feel sick.  I have mild cramps but not like AF gearing up...

I'm on CD 36, 18 DPO.  The last time I tested was Sunday (16 DPO).  Normally I'd have my period by now (after stopping progesterone).  If AF isn't here by the weekend I'll probably test again.  If AF comes and my appetite doesn't return, I really need to go to the doctor.  This has been going on since last Thursday.  It's not normal for me - though it is a welcome symptom since I really need to lose some weight.  As long as it's not serious!

Anyway, GTKY... something positive: My trip to the Bahamas was AMAZING.  I can thank that trip for my sunny mood and general happiness now :) I was getting so, so depressed from the evil winter we've suffered.  But after a week in warm weather, splashing around in crystal clear waters and enjoying four course dinners on a cruise ship, I'm equipped emotionally to handle whatever remains of winter now.

  • @wishiwaspreggo - You could always ask for a blood test as well. That would give you a more definitive answer.

Not necessary - temp dropped this morning so it's a no go for me this time.  AF should be here this afternoon or early tomorrow.  At least I know now, but that was a real mind effer for a while.  I hate that I have to take progesterone during my cycle.  It just prolongs the agony.  Oy.

QOTD: Relates to above. After two failed attempts these past two months, we decided we could do one more round before having to take a break. I'm a little anxious but also happy that it worked out to try again.

  • hi guys,

I took a break from the Bump when my wife miscarried earlier this month. It has been a really difficult couple weeks, but I'm starting to feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

DW miscarried naturally and we were referred to a new RE who we met with a couple days ago. We really like him, and he's much  more conveniently located which will save us 1-2 hours in commute per appointment. He did an ultrasound and determined that there was nothing left behind that would require a D&C and we can start trying again as soon as her cycle returns. This is a huge relief because we were afraid we would have to wait a few cycles. Hopefully we can try again as early as March. He also recommended we try Clomid to have a better chance of producing a good egg.

  • Today is CD 32 and 15 days after my first IUI. All home pregnancy tests, including today, have been negative. I have been waiting for AF, which is officially late. I am usually 27-29 day cycle and never had irregular or missed cycles. I anticipated BFN and move on to next cycle. This is a weird state of limbo. I am really unsure what is going on. I will be calling RE tomorrow and maybe request a blood test to at least confirm.

QOTD: My good news is I was able to spend the day yesterday with a close family member who returned after 9 months serving in a medical capacity with the Army Reserves in Afganistan. So great to have him back, safe and sound.

@Mellebee, your cycle is always regular until it isn't. Unfortunately, when we are TTC, we are much more aware of things that our bodies are doing. It's possible you ovulated later than you thought and that's what is causing your delay. Glad your family member has made it home safely!
