So I woke up this morning to spotting which since it right around that time leads me believe that AF is in fact arriving. That also means that our IUI #2 didn't work and we will be starting cycle 3. My DH & I have been going the route of RE since July 2013 and I don't know why it just occurred to me this morning to look at what the success rates of IUI's are. I was surprised to see that they are so low under 20% but most lower. I then of course started looking to see if there are ways to increase your fertility naturally such as diet, vitamins, exercise, etc.
I know we are all here for the same reason and are still in the midst of our fertility journey but have any of you tried a fertility diet or anything like it and noticed any kind of difference?

Re: Increase Success Rate

When we started TTC I cleaned up my diet big time...hoping for that extra edge. I'm still not seeing any changes in my fertility...but I feel better overall: mentally, physically, emotionally...that must count for something
In addition to diet changes, I tried acupuncture...it increased my LP by 2 days. I saw this as success since my LP is on the short side. If your insurance covers it, or if you can pay OOP then I'd say it's worth looking into.
Good Luck

Anyway, when I got pregnant after a year of trying, I had taken soy isoflavones at the beginning of my cycle. It's a pretty big coincidence if you ask me. I also mentioned to my re about taking them and she said in her office she has seen a couple women take them and get pregnant. Anecdotally. Also, that month I had huge amounts of ewcm- which I'd never seen before.
After I get my baseline bloods done, I'll be taking it again.
Like I said, definitely not for everyone. I conducted my own research for a full two months prior to using them. And I think they at least helped me.
