12dpo rant

Well this isn't much of a rant but here it goes.

DH and I started officially trying last month, My period is always on a 26 day cycle never have spotting or anything like that prior to it. AF starts and is heavy for 2-3 days and lasts about 5 days in total. Last month at 12dpo I started spotting and did for 2/3 days and thought oh! this could be implantation bleeding, but nope low and behold at day 25 AF came and so came trying for month # 2.

I've been charting/temping and am currently at 12dpo again and this morning very light pink/brown spotting has begun. AF is now scheduled for this coming Tuesday/Wednesday and now I just have it in my head that it's just going to be the exact same thing as last time.

I'm assuming my body is just playing tricks on me and reacting differently than it usually does only because it knows that we are officially "trying" I figured I would just express my slight frustration on here since DH doesn't really get it :)

Appreciate all the love and support from previous posts! I know I am early in the game at only attempt # 2 but I needed to let this out a bit !

Re: 12dpo rant

  • I sympathize. Your cycle really could be affected by stress. I'm only on cycle 2 of TTC right now, but my first cycle was all kinds of weird. O came later than normal, my LP was shorter than normal, and I think I just got myself all worked up the whole cycle. Now that the first cycle is over, I feel more relaxed and less high-strung about it.

But cycles can change regardless of stress level, so try not to be surprised by slight sudden changes. It sounds like your cycles are still healthy, so don't fret too much. Best of luck to you.

  • It never fails. As soon as I start TTC my cycles get all wonky and it takes 2-3 cycles for them to get back to "normal".

  • It's not really relevant that your cycle is 26 days, what's more relevant is your typical LP. Do you know your average LP length? If you link your chart we can help give you feedback on your O date.

This exactly. My cycles were ALWAYS 28-31 days. Then, on vacation this October, we decided to NTNP and see what happens. Lo and behold, I was 6 days late! I kept testing and they all turned up negative, but I had to chuckle at the irony of being that late for the first time ever after NTNP. I also knew that traveling, the time difference, and all of the delicious French food and wine could have stressed me out and delayed O.

It happens, and being extra aware of it messes with you even more! Hang in there and remember it can take a perfectly healthy couple up to a year to conceive!

Well I posted my chart when I took my temp earlier this morning but then I went back to sleep. When I woke back up and went to the bathroom, once again pinkish/red with CM enough for a wipe and that it. This is turning into EXACTLY what happened last time lol. So frustrating, however I will keep everyone updated if AF actually shows up next week.

Made the mistake last time and took a test the day before AF was due, then 2 hours later AF came haha what a waste of a test ! I told myself that I would not do it this time haha and just "patiently" wait and see :P

Also, I am SUUUPER moody haha, I don't usually get like that..poor DH

  • I know spotting before AF is common, I just know that it hasn't been common for me over the last 12 years haha :) TTC  definitely messes up your system
