He's been pulling up for a few weeks now. But he's not cruising the furniture yet. And we do make him pull to his feet before we pick him up. I'll ask my pedi at our 15mo appt in March. Thanks ladies!
My brother didn't walk until 18 months and that was considered "normal". DD went from not walking at all to being a full fledged walker literally within a few days, so your DS might surprise you one day. It's a good sign that he's starting to pull up. I get your concern though. That's how I am about DD and her "talking" (or lack there of).
I've known a few kids that didn't start until 16 or 17 months.
I've also heard - and this might be total crap - but I've heard that kids that walk early tend to speak a little later, and vice versa. My daughter started at 11 months, and still only says three words - all names.....though she says something that might mean "quack" and I'm pretty sure "ba" means bath...but who can say. "Ba" means lots of things.
In anycase, if you are worried speak to your pediatrician. Is he meeting his other milestones?
That's the thing he seemed to half ass his sitting milestone. When he sits he has one hand on the ground (tripod) with his legs straight out. I have looked into PT but because DH makes so much money we have to pay full price for our sessions. Which is $500/month and that is just not in our budget. I feel kinda guilty about having passed up the PT but we also think he will get it eventually. Now that being said, last night I witnessed him crawling up the stairs at the neighbors house. Crazy.

So the PT said he needs the therapy but you aren't doing because you don't want to have to pay for it??? Sorry but that's not okay. Especially if your husband makes so much money. My son does PT because he had some weak core muscle tone related to his IUGR. My insurance doesn't cover it so I pay out of pocket for it. It's not cheap and it does put a little strain on us financially but we make it work because he needs the PT. some kids are just slow to reach gross motor milestones, but if there is a muscle weakness, which sounds like might be the case for Z since he isn't cruising and "half asses" his sitting still, he needs PT to strengthen his muscles. It's likely to get worse not better if you don't address it. I hope you might reconsider your decision and do what is best for your child. Not walking yet is okay, but there are some other concerning signs that should be addressed.
What makes you a doctor?! I had a PT come to the my house and she didn't/wouldn't discuss anything with me about how he was doing. She just said he couldn't sit up. She even snapped at me when I asked her not to pull him by his arm. Telling me she was going to help him learn to sit up and needed to pull his arm. The bitch has left a bad taste in my mouth about PT, so sorry for not wanting to 'help' my son. I'm not going to spend that kind of fucking money to have someone like her come to my house and not even explain anything to me and be rude. And btw I do want to help my son. To make it sound like in the world's shittiest mom. When the only place that offers PT that is supposed to have benefits met for us is not the place I want to use. Thank you for ruining my day. Now I'm back to square one doubting myself about his well being and wondering if my child I am having in July will be the same way.

Um I'm pretty sure I never said you were a shitty mom. You did however say you didn't get PT for Z because you didn't want to pay for it. That's not ok in my opinion. Not liking a particular PT is another issue. And I am in the medical field.i was trying to encourage you to get a second opinion and let you know PT is helpful. Clearly you are worried or you wouldn't have asked the question. No need to attack me.
@mrscutforth You know you can also call other places that offer PT and see if they have cash only discounts and payment plans if they do not take your insurance. Since you do not like the one place that your insurance covers. Also if you get a few sessions with a place/person you like they may be able to give you some exercises or activities to do at home to help you cut cost.
I do think that letting one crappy experience keep you from seek further help/2nd opinions for your son is cutting off your nose to spite your face. It might be time to swallow your pride/hurt/anger and seek out help for him where ever you can find it. And @pobrecita had a good suggestion with Early Intervention.
That's what i was told. But she came in with a therapist and they want $500/month. I was told by my pedi it was free. It apparently is only free if you make under a certain amount a money a year. And we are waaaay over there. So people like DH and I get to pay full price for a service that is $120 and less for others. Fucked up right?!

I honestly wouldn't care about the cost if it was my child. I would hook on the street corner if I had to.
I'm done with all this. I'm only giving bits and pieces of what the issue is. I thought the info was enough I did give but I guess not. Thanks for y'all's insight.

Have you looked at other OT/PT service providers?
Thanks for y'all's insight.
@persephonerose you cracked me up!
