Today is not a good day

I'm on the verge of having a Ben & jerry's fuelled meltdown. My reasons are thus:

1) We're currently having massive storms over here and the power went out at 10pm yesterday. It was still out this morning so we were freezing and couldn't shower.

2) I had a 2.5hr prenatal massage booked today, which I've been looking forward to all week. Unfortunately because the whole town was out, the place was closed and I have to re-schedule.

3) we drove into town to get lunch and I ordered noodles with my veg teriyaki. They brought me rice. By this time I was on the verge of a low blood sugar rage so DH had to go back to the counter and make them give me noodles.

4) I was buying some onesies and the assistant asked me when I was due. I said early may and he looked me up and down and said "you don't look that far along. How far along are you". Well first of all, who the fuck are you? Secondly, it's none of your beeswax. I was wearing a loose top, but still. Is he a dr? No. Then fuck off.

5) We get home and the power has finally come back on. Hooray! So what does DH do? He plays play station all afternoon, while I'm sat here lamenting the massage I should be having. I sigh and say "being pregnant is hard". He honestly looks at me and says "no it's not". The look of realisation on his face after saying that showed that he immediately regretted it.

TLDR; shit day. But at least I got noodles.

I would have thrown something at him. But I'm in a throwing things kinda mood today (not DHs fault at all, he's actually been a total sweetheart today. I'm just cranky).

I'm glad there were some redeeming parts to the day, at least!

My DH knows that if he values his life, he should not say things like that. I just read your H's comment to him and he said "well, it's not. For the dude." Smart man, he is.

Yeah you deserve all the ben & jerry's. Also I think you should have stormed the restaurant kitchen in your low blood sugar rage and started upturning tables and throwing utensils. And I think your H owes you a 2.5 hour prenatal massage. Hope the storms quiet down & your tomorrow is better!

You totally deserve to get down on some B&J's right now. Better yet, do you have a DQ, Coldstone, or any other ice cream spot nearby? Make DH go get you some of that, then give you a 2.5 hour massage while you eat it.

I hear ya! Sometimes everything goes wrong all at once. And sometimes husbands don't realize how insensitive they can be sometimes. I put my DH in charge of V-Day plans and he totally jacked that up, so we just ended up going to the movies (RO-mantic lemmie tell you)! Hope you have a better tomorrow.

This made me LOL. I thought maybe she was saying he implied her bump looked small. It really goes both ways when people butt in on your pregnancy and how you should look/feel. I get the 'little' comments a lot and it pisses me off. People are always like "You can't be 6 months along, you are so small." etc. It's like people are implying it's not healthy and I have even had people ask me/encourage me to eat more. I friggin eat, OK people. My baby measures close to the 80th percentile. We are fine. IMO my bump is not even small, I've gained over 25lb thus far, and the bump looks the same as with DS1 when I was 60lb heavier pre-baby.

Right? I'm a big girl (5'10", bigger body build) so I have no false impression of how I look. I also love the "You're only carrying in your stomach." Where else would I be carrying a baby?

I am so sorry that you've had such a terrible day!!
I know exactly what you mean about people saying 'you don't look that far along'. I seriously get that EVERY time someone asks! I'm like ummmm ya I do. Can't you see my belly! AAAHHH!
And the noodle thing, I would've done the same. The other night I went out for dinner...it was awful, I was so hungry I wanted to cry because I seriously could not eat it. I don't like complaining at restaurants or return food but oh my gosh awful.

The perk is that I got a free plate of noodles, as well as the rice. I effectively had 2 lunches.

Oh and baby is measuring 50th percentile, so no worries there. Granted I've only put on 13lbs so far, but I could barely eat for the first 20 weeks. I didn't feel like explaining that to some cashier though.

I do seem to have woken up with a cold, which means this weekend is a write off. I might ask my dad to take me out to breakfast. I need pancakes and hash browns - twice.
