Cysts and IVF

So just wondering if anyone else was allowed to start a cycle of IVF when they still have ovarian cysts?

I was told I have cysts and would probably be benched with BCP, but now I am told I will be starting IVF now since the blood work was normal? 

Anyone else in that situation? if so, does anyone know why that blood work means its ok?

I had a cyst at the beginning of this cycle and was still allowed to go forward because my bloodwork came back okay. It's just an IUI though, so im not sure what factors would influence the decision when talking about IVF

This just happened to someone on the IF board. She had an 11mm cyst at her baseline, but it wasn't producing estrogen so she was cleared to start stimming. I believe the cyst was gone by her first or second monitoring appointment. It sounds like yours probably weren't producing estrogen either so you should be fine. Good luck with your cycle!

I also had a cyst before IUI #3 but was allowed to proceed because it wasn't producing any hormones of its own. If your doc thought it was a problem, then he/she would've extended your time on BCP. Good luck with your cycle!

thanks everyone. That actually makes sense because my estrogen did go back down
