So our LO has been sleeping in our room in the bassinet attachment but is now outgrowing the weight limit. We took off the bassinet and tried just sleeping at the bottom regular part. I just felt terrible like he was on the floor and then this morning I felt it and there is a bar that runs down the middle that Im worried is uncomfortable. So Im looking for solutions. Our problem is our house is a cape style with 2 bedrooms on the first floor and one upstairs. Our bedroom is upstairs bc it is much larger, LO crib and bedroom is downstairs which I didn't see has a problem at first since he was in the bassinet, but now there is no way I want him downstairs at night when we are upstairs. The problem is the second bedroom we are using as an office and way to small for our room. We are trying to sell the house so looking for a short term solution until we move. So my questions: 1. Does anyone use the pack n play for sleeping still and do you notice LO being uncomfortable? 2. And this was DHs solution...do you think there is any reason it wouldn't be safe to put a blanket under the mattress so that the bar isn't felt as much? It also raises it up a little. I have just never heard of anyone doing this so thought there must be a reason. My thought is it may not be a firm enough mattress when thinking of SiDS risk. 3. My other thought is to just buy something new, so can anyone recommend a cosleeper that works at this age? TIA! Sorry so long! I just worry about everything!
Re: Sleeping in Pack N Play
Please know this is all under the fitted sheet so there isn't anything loose.
They can use the lower surface until something like 35 pounds.
Our little guy is sleeping in the lower surface of the pack n play, and the prior posters are right--the bars shouldn't bother them because the mattress is hard as a board. But they are so light it is not uncomfortable!
I'll check again. Last time I read it. It just gave 1 weight limit . My DD is almost 17lbs already and I lay her in her bouncer in there.
Francesca Pearl is here! Josephine Hope is almost 3!
