Re: 3rd Trimester Check-In

  • Thanks for taking over. Great job!

I officially started maternity leave today. Due to being high risk for preterm labor like my last birth they had me go off early. My body was ready. :)

DH set up a table in his parents garage when we were dating and had candles. We ate pizza and he gave me a beautiful heart shaped neclace. Best Vday ever!!

Thanks for taking over, MJC!! Congrats to the new moms, and hugs to those who need them!

I'm 38w4d today! I've been having tons of contractions and some cramping, and I was super nervous that I'd go into labor during the snow/ice storm we had this week. Thank goodness everything has started to melt, and the roads are much better now!

At my appointment on Tues, I was ~3cm, 80% effaced, baby was almost at +1 station. My MIL swears that I'll have the baby this weekend because of the full moon tonight - hah! If I make it until then, I'm scheduled to be induced on Tuesday morning. So either way, this will be my last 3rd tri check-in! Wow! :)

QOTW: Whenever we go on trips, I'm usually the "planner" - researching destinations, activities, accommodations, etc. This year for our 5th anniversary, DH surprised me with a romantic trip to the mountains, and he did such a great job planning everything! It wasn't anything super fancy, but just a lot of thoughtful, fun, and memorable moments together - I loved it.
    *** Trigger Warnings ***

    Dx = Unexplained IF
1 medicated TI cycle & 4 clomid IUIs = all BFNs
    June 2013 IVF #1 = 6 frosties + BFP!

    April 2016 FET #1 = BFN
    June 2016 FET #2 = c/p
    August 2016 FET #3 = BFP!
    DS2 born 4/17
  • I had my last scan today and as I was already expecting, this baby is breech. I'm really bummed out and I've been trying all the spinning babies techniques, too. I will probably have an ECV Wednesday and that honestly scares the shit out of me. I just know what a cry baby I will be during the whole thing. They only give a 50% success rate. If it doesn't work I have to do c section at 39 weeks. If they make me do c section I'm going to push for closer to 40 weeks. QOTW: I'm usually the romantic one in the relationship. DH did bring home an edible arrangement for me today :) we are being very low key this VDay because we have a remodel going on.
  • Hi, Can I be added please?  I am due on 4/28/14 with twin girls.

I am so happy to finally be in the 3rd trimester, and am counting the days/weeks until 37 weeks.  My MFM/Ob say the latest they will deliver mono-di twins is 36-37 weeks, so I am getting closer. I am really overwhelmed about how I am going to fit in twice weekly NSTs at 32 weeks.  My MFM is open 8-4, and I work 630-430 Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri.  I just don't know how I am going to continue to work full time, take care of DD, and fit in all these appointments.

As for the QOTW - DH is not very romantic or helpful.  However lately he has become better in both areas.  He has taken more responsibility around the house and helps with DD more.  For Valentines Day this year, he filled my car balloons and treats while I was working.  It was a nice surprise when I got off the train and saw the stuff in my car.

    Ella - 10/19/10
    Julia and Aubrey - 4/3/14

  • Can I be added?  First 3rd tri check in...yay!  I'm due with boy/girl twins on May 9th.  I've been in the hospital for a little over 3 weeks with extremely short cervix and preterm labor.  I will be here until 32-34 weeks or they deliver...whichever comes first.

QOTW: MH is not romantic at all, but he does very nice things for me all the time, he visits me every night after work, and had been keeping our household running while I've been here...he's the best!

@monimu13 I was just thinking about you and wondering how you were hanging in there! Hope you are doing okay and not going crazy in the hospital! Glad the little ones are still baking- you are a strong woman!!

AFM, nothing new. I think I am getting a hang of my GD diet ladies (thanks to some tips on here). I have a follow up with the nutritionist this week and my OB appointment. I can't believe I am 30 weeks today! I have my growth scan in 2 weeks which I am a little anxious about due to the SUA and GD complications- I hope the little guy is on track!

QOTD- I can't think if one big romantic gesture but he does little things here and there which I appreciate. Just the other day, I was complaining about being uncomfortable at night and I came home to a snoogle pillow. He does listen sometimes :)

  • Hi - can I please join? I'm due 4/24 with team green twins!

Updates: I'm 30w,2d. I think I've developed a case of SPD this past week. I have an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday, so will be asking more about it then. It's been tolerable because I work at a desk. But I walked for 30 minutes around Target today (because I've been panicking about not having enough clothes for the twins) and am really paying for it. I'm feeling very sore. At least now I have enough clothes and I think I'm going to start washing bedding, blankets, and clothes so I can start putting things away and organizing the nursery!

QOTW: This isn't the most romantic thing he's ever done, but it's pretty sweet and what I can think of at this point. We're not really Valentine's day people. But last year he bought me a gift card for Chipotle that said "You are burritoful" and then he wrote a one page story about me and my magical burritos. I love Chipotle and this was so very sweet and unexpected.

  • Thanks for taking over the check-in for us, MJC! And congrats BlueEyedDreamer on your impending arrival!

I'm 30 weeks today... Woohoo! Feeling pretty good except it's weird that I don't have much appetite lately and actually lost a couple of pounds. And I'm having a ton of BH contractions the last week and a half. I mentioned them at Thursday's appt, and they put me on the monitor. Of course I didn't have a single one. But last night, I had ten in one hour while we were at a movie theater! They told me to call or go in if I have more than four in an hour, but I'd be going in every day! Just playing it by ear right now.

QOTW: DH is kind and sweet, but not particularly romantic. But he did do something romantic when we were dating that I loved. We used to work together and we kept our relationship secret for a couple of months at first. At one point during that time, he printed up a pretty color photo of some calla lilies (which I had told him was one of my favorite flowers), and he left it on my desk with no note. I loved it that he remembered and was so stealthy about it.

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm!
Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

DH is very sweet and super thoughtful. He never forgets holidays or birthdays, and he is a extremely thoughtful card-writer. I'm so lucky!

    PAIF/SAIF/Everyone Welcome!

  • I totally forgot to even check in this week. Haha... I was so focused on starting the thread!

I'm 29.5 weeks today. No major news. I have my next appointment tomorrow. May be having an ultrasound, but if not, then in a couple of weeks I have a follow up appointment with the perinatologist and I'm hoping for some good 3D shots. Baby has been hiding every single ultrasound!

We had out maternity photo shoot on Sunday. So much fun. I love our photographer. She's been with us since we got engaged. She showed me some of the unedited photos straight from the camera and they are so much fun. DD has so much personality and she really captures her perfectly. While we were taking pictures, something either stung my leg or I sat on a thorn or something and now I have this bright red welt on my leg. Of course I'm panicked that it's a horrible infection.

QOTW: My H isn't OVER the top romantic, but when he does things, it's really sweet and thoughtful. For one anniversary, he planned a weekend trip to our favorite place and while I was in the shower getting ready for a surprise dinner, he set up the closet where he bought and surprised me with a beautiful black dress and gorgeous gold heels (and a really nice corset type bustier, but let's be honest, that was probably more for him ;) ). Then we went out for a nice dinner. It was so sweet!

  • Hello Ladies!!  I'd like to be added over here, please, @MJC1116.  Told you I'd be right behind you.  ;)

I'm FINALLY officially in last tri - whew!  This has been a rough week, though.  Failed my 3-hr glucose test, so they want me to see a nutritionist, which is a complete and total waste of time.  I bought a blood glucose monitor, I can keep track of it myself, thank you.  I know the difference between foods high and low on the glycemic index, about good carbs vs bad carbs, I already eat like that anyway.  I'm not surprised my body didn't handle 100 grams of glucose well!  LOL  I tested today and nothing was over 130, so I know I'm fine.
Also, I'm pretty anemic (on supplements) and have another darned UTI.  I go back to the OB tomorrow for my regular checkup, just to take a peek at my cervix and hear my beautiful babies' heartbeats.  My *technical* due date is May 12, but it would be nothing short of a miracle if I get these twins past April 14.  Then, I'll be 36 weeks.  We'll see.
Also, my wonderful DH is nearly relegated to the couch.  He says I moan and hum all night in my sleep.  I've been doing this for about a month now, and sometimes I hear myself do it as I'm falling asleep, so I know it has nothing to do with *weird* pregnancy dreams, but he said today that he at least hoped it was him I was dreaming of, LOL.  I don't know how to tell him this, but sex is the absolute last thing on my mind.  :D
