So LO rolls from back to belly going towards her left side.. Should I be concerned that she doesn't go the other way? I'm sure she will at some point, but I figured I would see what other LOs were doing.
I wouldn't worry. Rolling is not exactly a necessary life skill. She will do it when she wants to.
DD2 just rolled for the first time yesterday. It was back to belly, and she only did it once and got really pissed off about it. lol. I wouldn't be surprised if she crawls before she rolls again. lol.
I know @crunchymama11 had a late roller with her first as well. And she is a thriving 2.5 year old that can walk (and roll if she needs to).
My friend @carlaandjames has a 7 month old that can sit up but I don't think he ever rolled until very recently. I guess he just had no desire to.
DS hasn't rolled yet. He has tried a few times when we are doing tummy time, but I am not worrying about it. My niece was a very late walker and barely crawled before she walked. At 2 she now runs better than her 4 year old sister.
LOL yea I'm not too worried. My friends LO hardly ever rolled and did a weird crawl for about 4 months until she started walking. She doesn't roll from belly to back yet..
Rolling is a super pointless skill, but I just want to make sure all of her muscles are being used? Idk I read too much on the interwebz
LO rolled belly to back at two months exactly. He did it so many times that day and then took a three week break before I saw another roll. He still only rarely rolls belly to back. He has yet to roll back to belly although I think he is completely capable. He gets pretty much all the way over laughs and goes back to his back.
He really would rather turn in circles on his back or push himself forward on his belly. He is more interested in trying to crawl than rolling over.
Like the PPs said, rolling is kind of a weird milestone, and I wouldn't worry too much about it! I swear our LO may never roll again and just crawl/scoot/whatever.
We haven't actually seen him roll yet but we know he does because we find him laying on his back sometimes when he is on his belly. He only does it if I put him in the crib so I can go pee or if I am putting his clothes up. He will only go belly to back and not back to belly yet. However he shows more interest in crawling than rolling.
LO uses TT to strengthen her core by doing the Superman. She just started to try rolling from back to front like yesterday... And by try, I mean she wrinches her head way around and screams and tries to get her legs over. She just turned 4 months on the 10th.
DS is nowhere near rolling. I think he's too fat and his head is too big to much but throw a fit about how much he hates tummy time. I'm not worried, all you can do is give him opportunities to practice. It'll come together when he's ready.
Rolling is no longer considered a milestone so don't worry about it. And I'm not sure if by "other way" you mean if LO rolls to the right instead of her left or if you mean rolling belly to back. Regardless, it will happen eventually and most babies only roll to one side (right or left). A2 rolled once on pure accident (my parents put her on a pillow to prop her up during TT and her big head got away from her) and has yet to show any signs of rolling over.

My three other kids didn't roll until 6-8 months as well.
