What the heck is going on now?

I cannot stop getting sick to my stomach. Like... Violently and nastily sick to my stomach. I'm always nauseated, have been the whole pregnancy, but the actual vomiting hasn't happened this much in a while. I have gotten sick 7 times since midnight and there have been many other close calls that I've somehow managed to breathe through to make them go away. I don't feel flu-ish and my stomach doesn't hurt at all, just miserable from how much I'm getting sick. And now my throat freakin' burns.

End disgusting rant.

  • Sorry you're going through this. Could it be a stomach bug or something you ate?

  • Oh that sucks! Have you been having any heartburn or reflux issues? That was the source of it for me during 1st tri, though never that bad.

    Feel better soon!

  • :( Check in with your OB, you don't want to end up dehydrated. Poor mama! Feel better.

  • I have had renewed "morning sickness" for about a week. My doctor said it is because the baby is up so high, and is a bit big, so he is smoothing my organs. It's worse after eating, but even drinking water can trigger it if he is positioned just so.

    Feel better soon!
  • I'm not sure what the heck it is. I've barely been eating, so I wouldn't think anything along the lines of food poisoning. My stomach isn't achy at all as far as the flu goes. And no heartburn or anything of the sort. The constant and worsening nausea is similar to 1st trimester, but I definitely did not get to the vomiting point this often, especially without eating being the trigger. Thank you for all the suggestions! I'll give it until later tonight so it's been at least a full 24 hours and see if it gets any better and if not I'll call them, just in case. I feel like whatever it is just came out of no where!

  • Yikes! Take good care of yourself! I hope you feel better soon.
  • 7 times since midnight?? Yikes that is awful. Hope you feel better very soon!
  • I'm so sorry! My morning sickness got better in December but has also flared up again lately. Steady use of antacids has helped a bit.

  • It might be a stomach bug. When I had it, it was really similar to morning sickness but worse. I couldn't keep anything down except small sips of Gatorade. Not even bread, which was my go to food for 1st tri. It ran it's course in about 24 hours. If it had been any longer I would've called my midwife to see if she wanted me to go in.
  • You can't seem to catch a break. :( Hope you feel better!

    Norovirus or other GI bug?

I had norovirus last week and it was just vomiting. No diarrhea or other type of sick feeling besides the nausea. I ended up losing 7 lbs (about gallon) of fluids in less than 18 hours. Very scary. My reflux has been flaring up ever since, so I had to increase my dose of omeprazole till my stomach lining recovers.

But it is possible to develop hormonal nausea at any point in pregnancy. So yours could just be round 2 of morning sickness.

  • I had this too. Went to the dr and turned out to be the stomach flu which isn't related to the flu at all. He gave me meds to sleep it off and I felt much better!

Hope you're feeling better soon and it's just a temporary thing!
  • No suggestions for help, but I hope you feel better soon! :)
