Hubby got me a gift card to Walmart to use on baby stuff, and then paid a lady at work to make me chocolate covered strawberries, but I opened them up and a few of them were already bad, so I told him, and now he feels really badly. I think that she might have used some old ones, and then they froze out in the car and defrosted, and I think that might have turned them quicker. I don't know. But I'm going to see if we can go to BRU tonight and pick up some things like our travel system, and misc stuff that goes with it, so I'll count that as my Valentine's gift. I really want Cheesecake Factory but the closest one is an hour and a half away, so that's probably not happening, plus I'm sure they'll be crazy busy tonight and this weekend with the holiday.
DH brought me a card and a pretty sterling silver/pink gem ring! This is the first year he hasn't gotten me a "post-valentine's day" gift! He's my favorite even though we piss each other off sometimes.
In memory of the angel babies that were too perfect for Earth.
DH got me chocolate covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements.. Yum! I just have to wait until he gets home from work to get them (he picked them up today instead of doing delivery, but told me about them last night because he can't keep a secret). He got DD a cute stuffed owl and she screamed and hugged it when he gave it to her.. adorable!
Since we both work nights and we both had last Friday off and had a date night at Chilis we counted that as our Valentine's Day dinner. Since all I really wanted was new bathroom accessories, curtain, rug, towels, etc I bought them last weekend and told him to just count that as my Valentine's Day gift, but he surprised me with a really sweet card and a Precious Moment that I really wanted!
Got flowers. I was actually more excited about how my guys loved the stuff I got them for V-Day! My son loved his Thomas Vday activity book and Toy Story stickers. MH was really geeked about the martini book I made him w all different ways to make martinis. Plus I got him all the fixin's so he can start on his new martini hobby!
I haven't gotten my gift yet, my hubby works overnights so when he got home from work he went right to bed. We have a tradition that he makes me chocolate covered strawberries, he has the stuff to make them, he just has to do it. Which I'm sure he will when he gets up.
DH got me a massive box of Godiva chocolates ...which I learned are a good source of fiber and protein (as I reach for another) I have basically gotten a big box of chocolates the last seven years in a row and I love it (as I reach for another chocolate) ;;)
My mom is coming over tonight to watch DS so we can go out to dinner. Besides that, dh sucks at special occasions. I've learned to not get my hopes up too high. I wish he'd get flowers or chocolate at least once, but I hate having to plan my own "surprises". I'm planning our 5th anniversary because he wouldn't. So...Yeah. sorry for the whine novel.
We literally just moved into our new house last weekend, so the house, all the new furniture, new floors, etc. are our Valentine's Day lol! He did send flowers to my job today and we'll have date night on Sunday though
We don't really fuss about valentines day. Sometimes one of us will buy a gift, but its neither expected or encouraged.
That said, DH brought in the stroller box that arrived yesterday (too heavy for me to lift) and then built the stroller for me and did a little demo of all the features while I watched from bed rest. I've been looking forward to the strollers arrival for practically the entire pregnancy so having him be my hands and taking the time out to assemble/demo (even though he couldn't really care less about the stroller- its all me) was sweet and more than enough valentines day for me.

We don't do gifts anymore b/c it was always so hard to figure out what to get him and my bday is 3 days prior, so he'd have to buy something for me twice in a week. We don't even exchange cards cuz we're not "card people" lol
He always gets me roses, though ... which was interesting today b/c they are always delivered to my office if Valentine's Day is on a weekday, but I'm WFH today due to snow, so we had to tell FedEx to hold the box at a near-by facility so DH could pick them up on his way home. He's a good hubby
Edit: Hubs just came home and he got himself a haircut today too He's just been buzzing it himself lately, so seeing his old high-and-tight w/ fade was refreshing!

My DH as well. He used to be super sweet and romantic (aren't they all in the beginning?) but not anymore. I LOVE surprises but he never surprises me. He will ask what I want, then tell me he's getting me that lol. I would Love for him to be creative and think of something sweet and surprise me. Not gonna happen.
I secretly envy those women who wake up to sweet surprises on Valentines Day or birthdays. I'm holding out for a sweet card one day (he's never given me a card), maybe cooked breakfast or something sweet and simple along those lines. Ahh to dream
I don't like the hubby to make a fuss at Valentine's, because our wedding anniversary is the beginning of March. Plus, wasting a hundred bucks on flower delivery drives me bananas. For FIFTEEN Valentine's Day he never really listened.
THIS YEAR, he sent me a Bonsai Tree. It's very cute...BUT OMG getting this thing out of its box was like giving birth and required the help from my usually helpless IT guy!! Enough Styrofoam peanuts to end the world. Took me almost an hour to wrestled it out of the packaging. I felt bad being so annoyed.....but jeez....
DH surprised me this morning with a coffee table book called "The Wes Anderson Collection." We love all of Anderson's movies, so this was fantastic! We spent an hour in bed looking through it.
I got him nothing. We were at the store the other day before the storm and discussed getting cards, but decided not to since we were together. I had no idea he had gone out before that to get this book. I lose at being a wife.
I got a GINORMOUS bouquet of flowers. Since we are both teachers at the same school, I had kids stop in all day to look at them. I don't think I'll ever understand why kids like to know so much about us! DH is gone overnight to coach at the sectional wrestling tournament and we have Monday off of school, so we will probably do dinner at some point!
We just exchange cards. DH will pick up take out on his way home and we will stay in and watch a movie. Nothing exciting but we prefer to stay in instead of going on Valentine's Day.
We bought each other a much needed new bed. Times have changed-I usually get jewelry, but I haven't been this excited for a valentine's day gift in a long time! Also, I picked out a ridiculously expensive diaper bag that my husband surprised me with for my birthday last month-and I said it could be a combined birthday/valentine's day gift. So I guess that counts too!
So far? My twins gave me the cold from hell. Other than that, nada! However, I'm 27 weeks today and I'm not in the hospital on bedrest for the duration of my pregnancy. I'm home and not at work on Valentine's day. The kids have a sitter for this evening, so we're going out to eat. So all in all, I'm counting my blessings
We don't really do holidays - but I did make him a card. It seriously looks like a 5th grader made it - I used a glue stick and crayons. Lol. I can't wait to give it to him regardless.
M14 January Siggy Challenge: Resolution I have no intention of keeping...SHOPPING LESS!
I told DH that I didn't want anything this year because I already got the best gift ever with our LO (yeah, corny, I know). Well I picked him up from work and he had a gorgeous bouquet that his coworker made especially for me (he works at Whole Foods) and he bought me extra dark chocolate which is my absolute favorite! He wrote on the little card that the gifts were from both him and LO because they both loved me so much. My pregnant hormonal self bawled like a baby the entire way home haha.
Now we're getting ready to order in Chinese food and watch Netflix while cuddled up in bed. Nothing too exciting or extravagant, but I definitely feel like a very special Valentine this year
Usually my husband gets me sweets but he went all out today with tons of goodies from L'Occitane which blew my mind he even knew that was one of my favorite stores. Plus he bought me a heart shaped red velvet cake from my favorite bakery.
Honey and my Mom conspired this year she had the wedding set from her and my dad's wedding ( 50years ago) resized to fit me and sent it without my knowledge to my nephew's house. He also got me a rose bush and a beautiful card ! Now we just need to get him a ring and run off and get married.
Nothing, for the first time in 9 years! I thought for sure I would get some flowers today since the 11th is the anniversary of when we met and he usually surprises me with something either then or on Valentin's day, but he didn't get me anything. It makes me kinda sad.

My DH and I did a romantic weekend getaway at a great B&B last Saturday night to avoid the craziness of this weekend. We got to stay in a jacuzzi suite room, dinner for two with wine (I miss wine :P ), and breakfast the next morning. Today there were flowers on the kitchen counter when I came downstairs. Just going to relax and watch movies tonight.
DH got me some fridge magnets with pictures of DD in them. So adorable! We never have enough fridge magnets, there's way too much stuff on our fridge. And he brought home takeout.

Steak, asparagus, baked Mac & Cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, and one small glass of pinot noir, then we shared a chocolate/PB torte, and cookies&cream ice cream. It was divine.
