Erotic as Power

Just wondering if any of you read Audre Lorde and plan to raise your girls with the knowledge that female sexuality can rival a more traditionally masculine conception of power. I'd love to exchange methods on how to nurture this sort of thinking within an overwhelmingly repressive social setting. :)

I was about to ask the same question. It was entertaining at first but now she's honestly on my last nerve.

She was flagged by several people for her initial posts.  Technically, nothing she's said is against TOU, unfortunately.  It's just a bunch of stupid and you can't ban stupid.

Lol I feel sorry for her. Must be a sad life if this is what you resort to for fun.

I have a wonderful life, its obscene. I'm actually not used to it at all because I've been through a lot of pain in the past. Sometimes I think I might've died and I'm actually in heaven :)
  • Seriously tho, has nobody here read Audre Lorde?

There are no mods for this board, specifically. However, several mods from other boards (myself included) are frequently on this board and watching, and the Bump Gods are on alert.

Quick question, if for some reason I am kicked off this board - I really have no idea why I would be other than the fact that people disagree with my opinions .. although that would seem like a pretty serious breach of freedom of speech - would you be able to block me from creating another profile and continuing to post on that one?
  • What if I'm using a public IP, like on a college campus?

Me personally? No. But the Bump Gods CAN do an IP ban.

What if I'm using a public IP, like on a college campus?

My recollection of library TOU is that you can't spend hours on end on a library computer for non-campus related usage. So based on the hours you have spent on this board yesterday and today, I'm thinking that's not the case.

If in doubt, though. @BumpJackie is the person to ask.

You can do whatever you want on a campus computer

    *sigh* No. It wouldn't.

  • At every school I have visited it has always been the case. What schools are you talking about??? Are we talking about two different things here?

A small listing of school libraries I have used, where there are actually rules regarding what you can/can't use the computer for: UCLA, UCSD, San Diego State, University of Denver, Mesa Community College, Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore and DC campus), American University, Tulane, University of Iowa, McGill University, and Universite de Sorbonne - Paris.

Some of the public libraries I have used, where there are actually rules regarding what you can/can't use the computer for: San Diego public library, Washington DC public library, and Baltimore public library.

Now you tell me what school(s) you have visited where you claim there are no rules on computer usage.

Oh, there are rules, but they dont include campus related vs non campus related

Never mind. I'm going to walk away.

    Just.

Nope. Not gonna go there today.

I was directing that mind bomb at you.. Lost in translation or just lost?
  • Sorry, dont mean to be insulting M. You guys should really read some Audre Lorde. Rlly empowering stuff
  • And you could really use a tranquilizer.

Tranquilizer would hurt the bb :(
  • You don't care about that though. Don't bother responding, quite frankly you've given me a headache and I see no reason to read this crap anymore.
