Pregnant after a Loss

Introducing myself

Hi everyone! My name is Angela. My first child, a girl we named Star, was stillborn October 4, 2012 due to placenta abruption. I am currently 8 weeks 5 days pregnant. I had my first doctor's appointment and ultrasound on Tuesday. It was such a relief to hear that heartbeat! I worry a lot, especially because I have no morning sickness to speak of. I have been referred to a perinatologist for additional monitoring and I have my first trimester screening on March 10 and return to my regular OB on March 11.

Wishing you all well!

  • So sorry for your loss. Congrats and welcome! Try not to worry too much about having certain symptoms but not others (although I've definitely been there); every pregnancy is different :), mine has been quite different from the others (two previous losses).
