Man mammogram : Update

So DH found a lump last week in his right boob. He is going to get a mammogram today to be safe. I was stressed about it until just now. T&P please.

Update: He had good results after his mammogram. They believe that he has some tissue growth there most likely due to low testosterone or his current medication. I'm so glad the lump doesn't appear to be anything to worry about. They did say they were glad he came in and had it checked and stressed the importance of men's breast health. So ladies if your man has a lump please have them get checked. Thanks for your T&P!

I didn't know they did that. My DH also has a lump. His Dr told him that cancer is extremely rare, and usually happens in men that are very old. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your DH.

Does he have family history? Like does his mom, aunts, sisters have breast cancer?

And just like women, if there is breast cancer in the family, men can get it too.

He has no living relatives at this time except for our children. We don't have a very in depth medical history for his family. My mom is an OBGYN. She came over this weekend and felt it and suggested the mammogram. I think some of the medications he is on put him in a high risk group for cancer. They will do the mammogram today and then if the radiologist feels it's needed a sonogram. Mom said it was most likely a cyst, but better safe than sorry. DH is about to be 44 and is a diabetic.
