What's the deal with it? Is it nesscary? Ds is 14 months and drinks about 8-16 oz of milk a day but keep seeing this toddler formula and wanted to know if it's something I need to start giving ds
I'm using it only b/c DS has food allergies. The straight soy milk or alternatives were destroying his stomach, so I'm sticking to the formula until we see the allergist again. Otherwise I'd much rather use milk. WAY cheaper!
I think there is a market for it. However, that market is for babies with failure to thrive. I'd rather give toddler formula in that situation than pediasure.

yes, my bff's little girl is a skinny minnie (less than 1% on the weight curve) so she takes formula.

My ex-niece had failure to thrive. Her doc made her drink like 4 things of Pediasure a day. That stuff is so full of sugar and crap. I'd rather do formula.
I give DS Similac Go and Grow occasionally, if he doesn't eat a whole lot that day or if he is sick. When he's sick, he won't eat, but he will drink the formula. But I definitely don't think it needs to be a regular thing.
ETA: I agree with PPs. I compared toddler formula to Pediasure and the Pediasure has way more sugar. Plus, it's flavored. Unnecessary, IMO.
