Thanks, & Last Day in My Office/at my job (mostly)

What a weird, weird, feeling! I am sitting in my office but in a couple hours I'll have finished clearing out. I'm still coming back for a farewell luncheon for me on March 7, and one or two other meetings, and will be doing some additional file cleanup from home, but this is the last day I will really be coming in as a "normal" employee. So very strange after 11.5 years. It's exciting and unsettling at the same time--a total transition day.

I'm glad this board was here all through my working mom journey, which I am sure is not over. I have gone through all kinds of stages, from hating working when DD1 was born, to coming to appreciate the many good things about it even while sometimes liking it and sometimes not, and then coming to this point where, right now, for my family, I know the best thing is for me to be at home for a bit. It's a scary but exciting decision and I am ready for a change and feel lucky to be able to try this out. I know I'll be back in the workforce, but when and what that will look like is somewhere in the future.
