Diaper Bag PSA

So I've been wanted a diaper bag with a wet/dry compartment kind've like the Planetwise and Blueberry bags. They didn't have the best reviews so I was looking around on Etsy.

I found this one

It said she did custom orders so I ordered it in this fabric

with a coordinating grey strap and grey side pockets.

She said she also offers an option for additional shorter handles for an extra $5.

The whole thing and all pockets are lined with PUL so the big side pocket can work like a wet bag.

It's a bit pricey, with shipping it was $95, but I'm so tired of carrying around the ugly Eddie Bauer one plus a wet bag. This one I will probably use full time as a purse and keep it stocked with diaper bag things.

I just ordered it so it will be a few weeks until I get it, so I'll let you know how I like it, but the reviews online are great.

Anyway...just in case you were looking for a cloth diaper friendly wet diaper bag...

  • I do love that…but huge tote bags worn on the shoulder are killer on my back! and shoulder, for that matter.  I just went with a backpack instead

I'm getting ready to order my jujube be right back backpack. I can't do a tote anymore either.

am i being dumb?  i don't get why you need a wet/dry diaper bag.  would you not carry around a small wetbag to put dirty diapers in and just put them in your diaper bag?
That's what I was doing, but this way it's just one less extra thing in the diaper bag or to remember to have.

I also kept having instances where I didn't have necessary supplies because I only use my diaper bag on the weekends usually. So if we spontaneously decided to go out for dinner before going home I wouldn't have stuff.

So, basically, we needed a second diaper bag that I could use like a purse, and I figured why not one that had a wet bag built in.

  • but doesn't all the other stuff in the bag get gross from the wet diapers?  or doesn't the inside of the bag get all disgusting?  or would you throw it in the wash after you use it with wet diapers?
That's what I was thinking. I wash my wetbag after almost every use. I guess you'd just have to wash the whole bag?

  • That bag will be gorgeous, but do you really want to unpack it and wash it after every time you stash used dipes in it? I'd still bring along a small wetbag...

  • I should get a backpack. I love the jujube prints but they're so expensive!!
I'm getting mine for my birthday. It's the only way I could justify spending that much money on a bag. Not that DH cares I'm just too frugal :P I love the prints but I really like all the pockets. I have convinced myself this bag is going to be the answer to my disorganized/not enough space/too hard of my shoulder diaper bag dilemma.

Oh, the backpack I got was a sport one, for twenty bucks. No way would I spend crazy money on a jujube one.

  • I would probably spray some bleach cleaner or something inside while cleaning the wet bag part. Don't think I would need to wash the whole thing. My son pretty much never poops when we're not at home, so I don't expect to have to deal with poopy diapers much.

BUT, it is fully washable so if necessary I could do that.
  • Jujube has some prints like that

  • I hate how can one diaper bag be too small and too big at the same time.  I think it has to do with once I put something in one outside pocket I can't use the inside pocket and vice versa so there's a lot of wasted space in it.

  • Hey wait I just looked and I think I'm thinking of the wrong bag. What's the brand that has the prints that are like Japanese cartoon looking?

Those are the Toki Doki prints that JuJuBe has. Clek also has them too. I could have a matching car seat and diaper bag combo.
