Restless legs anyone?

Does anyone else get restless legs at night? It's almost 330am and I can't sleep because of it. It's so annoying- usually I have to get up and hop in a warm bath and than I can go right to sleep. Sometimes I'm lucky enough where it's there but not as bad and I can fall asleep after awhile. I think tonight is gonna be go take a bath.

Re: Restless legs anyone?

  • Taking iron supplements completely cured this for me with both pregnancies. I started taking iron with the first because my blood tests showed i was anemic, so it came as a total surprise when the restless leg symptoms disappeared too.

I do sometimes, I get up and do some yoga poses my teacher showed me to stretch out my legs and get circulation going.

ETA: Also acupuncture works wonders as well!  For the times it got bad I would do acupuncture.
  • I've had it for years. Sometimes during the day and sometimes at night. I take a potassium pill daily and that's done WONDERS!
  • Yes and mine starts after dinner, when I am lounging.  It is so annoying, that I give up on relaxing and usually clean the kitchen or do laundry.  Perks...house is staying tidy.  Downs...I am tired damn it!

  • I get them when the baby has a big growth spurt and I keep them under control by taking more calcium and magnesium, eating more potassium, drinking more water, and avoiding salt close to bedtime.

  • It runs in my family & I have had bouts with it pre-pregnancy (mostly when I was unemployed and quite stressed out). I used to be able to pop a pill or drink some wine, which worked great! Now I do either calcium+magnesium+zinc supplements or yoga poses that cause my leg muscles to grow tired.

  • Yep. I get it in the evening right before bed. I'm on iron supplements too. I tend to find stretching helps.
